Verdict

GLOBAL ROSE looked to be in need of the experience when a close second, to a rival who had already had a run, on her debut at Windsor last week. If she does improve for that run then this 135,000-euro purchase could be hard to beat, especially as she has the benefit of a low draw. May Girl and Princess Keira both make plenty of appeal based on previous efforts, while Highland Mary has a solid each-way chance. Dutch Desire is a well-related filly and is a newcomer to note.

Verdict

Difficult to split GLOBAL ROSE and Princess Keira, but preference is for the former. Gay Kelleway's filly caught the eye when running on late at Windsor and with normal progress can go one better. However, Dutch Desire also needs serious consideration on debut with her master trainer William Haggas operating at over 30% with his 2-y-o runners this season.

Shaped well at Wolverhampton on debut, but that form hasn't worked out and he's been unable to build on that since, including over this C&D latest.

Verdict

JOSHUA REYNOLDS made a big impression when making a winning handicap debut at Newmarket at the end of last month. An 8lb rise in the ratings may not be enough to stop him form going in once again. Nadaitak has shown steady improvement with every start to date and he makes plenty of appeal. Duke Of Bronte has to be respected following his Newbury win last time but all of his best form to date has come at the Berkshire venue. Janszoon will find this easier than the Royal Ascot handicap that he contested last time out.

Verdict

Likely to prove strong form despite the field size, with DUKE OF BRONTE preferred to the representatives from top yards as he did well to win last time and this stiffer test can only help him. Stablemates Great Sound and Joshua Reynolds have to be feared.

Fairyhouse maiden winner who was well held in Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot last time. Since joined Andrew Balding and needs to up her game to figure here.

Verdict

This is not the strongest of Listed races and the standard-setter is SO HI SOCIETY, who finished third in a similar event at Newmarket two starts ago. She was then only beaten five lengths by Clemmie when finishing sixth in a Group 2 back at HQ a couple of weeks ago. Cape Bunting has looked to be above average in both of her starts to date and she is likely to have even more to offer here, while Billesdon Brook could pick up some black type.

Verdict

CAPE BUNTING looks ready for a crack at this grade after scoring with plenty in hand at Musselburgh last time and gets the vote in a competitive-looking listed event. Billesdon Brook, Tajaanus and So Hi Society make up the shortlist.

Right back on his game when making all in a French claimer in June but has more on his plate here and isn't certain to be in the same form.

Verdict

EYNHALLOW was an impressive winner over C&D last week and he arrives here 5lb well-in despite having to shoulder a 6lb penalty for that success. Silver Ghost should make a bold bid to secure the hat-trick but he does appear to be vulnerable to the well-handicapped selection. Artful Rogue made the frame in a similar event here last month and he should be in the mix for the minor honours once again.

Verdict

EYNHALLOW progressed again when a decisive winner over C&D last week, and in receipt of his age allowance taking on his elders for the first time, he rates a confident selection under a penalty. Silver Ghost is thriving and won't go down without a fight, with Artful Rogue best of the rest.

Verdict

BEYOND RECALL was a shade disappointing having not fully gone through with his effort under pressure at Yarmouth last time but the daughter of Cacique is worth another chance with softer underfoot conditions entitled to make all the difference. Becuna is entitled to improve now making her handicap debut for the Michael Bell team who are operating at a 20 percent strike-rate (5/25), while Paradise Cove won her maiden easily at Ayr and could well prove to be well handicapped.

Verdict

One suspects that BECUNA will leave her maiden form well behind now pitched into a handicap off what could turn out to be a lenient opening mark. She gets the nod ahead of Paradise Cove, who didn't beat much when landing an Ayr maiden last time but did the job well and is also capable of better now switched to handicap company. Venetian Proposal and Voi are live each-way players.

Showed ability in maidens, but has taken steps firmly in the wrong direction switched to handicaps the last twice. Engaged 6.35 here Wednesday.

Verdict

FINALE had shown some promise in maidens before getting off the mark in good style on her handicap debut at Nottingham and a 5lb rise in the weights looks more than fair for Hughie Morrison's charge who may well have more improvement in the locker. Funky Footsteps has first-time cheekpieces which should prove a positive to her chances, while My Illusionist is respected on his handicap bow.

Verdict

FINALE stands out here, not just on the basis of her convincing breakthrough success at Nottingham but also on account of her striking potential. Indeed, the Holy Roman Emperor filly is still unexposed, particularly on turf, and a 5 lb rise is unlikely to prevent her from going in again. Funky Footsteps is marginally preferred to Kyllachys Tale for forecast purposes.

Clear signs of ability in trio of 2-y-o starts, and entitled to sharpen up plenty for his return/handicap debut at Newmarket (6f) in June. In good hands so another 3-y-o to keep an eye on.

Verdict

ALEMARATALYOUM was never able to land a blow when fourth at Wolverhampton on his latest start but the stiffer track will undoubtedly play to his strengths and he is just 2lb higher than his last winning mark. Duke Of North is better than what he achieved at Brighton when not appreciating the drop back in distance, while Another Boy left a moderate Leicester performance behind when finishing a close fourth at Newbury latest and is another to note.

Verdict

ALEMARATALYOUM is a steadily improving 3-y-o handicapper, scoring at Yarmouth 3 weeks ago and shaping as if still in good form when fourth at Wolverhampton latest, caught further back than ideal. In receipt of his handy weight-for-age allowance, he gets the nod to resume winning ways, with the frustrating Mister Music and Jay Kay, who is sliding in the weights, possibly his 2 biggest threats.
