Scoop6 Saturday 11th August 2018

The tote scoop6 is a fantastic pool bet which gives you the chance to win a fortune for a £2 stake.

The challenge is to select all 6 winners from 6 races during Saturday meetings.

If you meet this challenge you will win a share of the scoop6 win fund, which is frequently worth over £1 million, and you will also get the chance to play for the scoop6 bonus fund by picking the winner of a race the following Saturday.

Even if you fail to select all six winners you can win a share of the scoop6 place fund if your selections place in each of the 6 races. Even this lower prize has paid out over £1000 per winner 11 times in the last 12 months. All this for a £2 stake!

Verdict

Koeman won by a neck over C&D two weeks ago and he can be expected to go well off just 4lb higher in the ratings today. That said, the preference is for NICHOLAS T, whose last few performances have suggested that he is worth another go over this trip. The six-year-old unseated his rider on his sole previous starts over this distance but he was a staying-on second to Big Country in the Zetland Gold Cup over 1m2f back in May. Since then he has hit the crossbar on multiple occasions over 1m/1m2f and his breeding suggests that he could find some improvement today. Machine Learner and Majeed are other recent winners to note, while Twin Star has a solid each-way shout.

Verdict

It's worth chancing EDDYSTONE ROCK, who wasn't disgraced when mid-field in the Duke of Edinburgh at the Royal meeting here last time. The 6-y-o is now 2 lb lower in the weights and this is a less-demanding assignment. Theglasgowwarrior will be a live danger if getting a run but, as things stand, the selection may have most to fear from last-time-out course winners Koeman and Machine Learner.

Improved with each start as a juvenile, culminating in fine second in listed race at Newbury. Touched off in Haydock minor event on return in May, but not seen since and in much deeper now.

Verdict

AGROTERA backed up her 1m victory in a Windsor maiden by landing the Sandringham last time and although she was subsequently hiked up the ratings by the handicapper, she steps up in grade now and is expected to take it in her stride. Shepherd Market rattled the crossbar in Listed company at Newbury last year and is entitled to build on a near miss on her comeback at Haydock in May. La Figlia made a winning start for her new stable at Chelmsford last time and could also take a hand.

Verdict

AGROTERA was most impressive in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot and can take this step up in class in her stride. Unforgetable Filly and La Figlia are feared most.

Form has been rather in-and-out this year and will probably find this too competitive if making the cut. RESERVE.

Verdict

BLESS HIM has steadily improved with every start in 2018 and the form of his latest run could hardly have worked out any better. On that occasion he finished third to an unexposed three-year-old at York and the second, fourth and fifth all won next time out. Prior to that he had run with promise in the Hunt Cup at the Royal meeting and this former Britannia winner merits the utmost respect under Joao Moreira. The consistent Via Serendipity is an obvious threat following his fourth-placed finish in the International Stakes over 7f here two weeks ago. Poet's Society only found one too good in the Golden Mile last time out but he is not the most reliable of geldings and is unlikely to be progressing given that this is his 55th career start. Medahim got his head in front at Goodwood but a 5lb rise makes life tougher for him today and his Ascot record is a concern.

Verdict

FIRE BRIGADE caught the eye on his first run following a wind operation at Newcastle and he could be the answer to what looks a very competitive renewal of this handicap. Any rainfall would aid his cause, a remark which also applies to Medahim, who seemingly had a bit left up his sleeve when winning at Goodwood. Poet's Society and Via Serendipity both command respect, too, as does Bless Him.

Verdict

SERGIO LEONE arrives here on the back of a second-placed finish in a very competitive handicap at Goodwood eight days ago. A 4lb rise in the ratings for that performance will make life tougher for him but he is unexposed over this trip and may have some more improvement left to come. The in-form Gossip Column has to be respected based on his four wins in 2018 to date, with the most recent of which coming at Chester last Sunday. Bajan Gold and Jazeel are others whose recent form mean that they make the shortlist.

Verdict

SERGIO LEONE was doing all his best work at the finish when runner-up over 11f at Goodwood recently, leaving the impression that this trip may well be the catalyst for further improvement. Richard Hannon's charge is 4 lb higher now but nevertheless makes plenty of appeal. Gossip Column, Jazeel and Bajan Gold are others to consider.

Better than ever when striking at third time of asking for new yard at Hamilton in June, but has disappointed at Carlisle since.

Verdict

MOUNTAIN ANGEL has shown good form in his two starts so far this campaign and his third to Chiefofchiefs at Sandown was a solid effort when last seen in May. Any rain in the forecast would boost his chance and he could have more to offer. War Glory ran well from a tricky draw when fourth at Thirsk last Saturday and is better drawn today, while Markazi is a fascinating contender on his UK debut for David O'Meara having shown useful form in France.

Verdict

WAR GLORY perhaps just paid for having to use up plenty of energy to get across from a wide stall when fading late on at Thirsk last Saturday. The draw has been kinder to him on this occasion and he's worth one more chance. David O'Meara has recruited the likes of Mondialiste and Lord Glitters from France so market support for Markazi would look significant. Stablemate Lamloom also merits respect.

Kept on well to open his account in 12-runner novice event at Windsor (6f) in June. Runner-up in 5f Newmarket handicap next time but latest effort at Bath was underwhelming. RESERVE.

Verdict

GEORGE OF HEARTS broke his maiden tag over this trip back in March and was then a close second to the subsequent Jersey second Society Power over 7f at this venue. His last two starts have come over 1m and, while he has run well, the son of Kendargent has clearly failed to see out that trip. He is certainly well enough handicapped to win this race but he will obviously have to be sharper over this distance. Shaheen is a progressive type and he only has to carry a 3lb penalty for his victory at Windsor on Monday. Roundhay Park accounted for a subsequent winner at Ripon in June and he was far from disgraced in a competitive contest at Newmarket's July meeting last time out. Bungee Jump is a likeable type and she could find herself in the mix once again, especially if she gets an easy lead.

Verdict

Judged on his effort over 1m here a fortnight ago, dropping back to this trip should suit GEORGE OF HEARTS. He gets the nod ahead of the progressive Shaheen, who was nicely on top at the finish at Windsor on Monday and may well have more to offer. Helvetian also enters calculations on the back of his recent Goodwood effort and Roundhay Park shouldn't be far away.
