Scoop6 Saturday 12th August 2017

The tote scoop6 is a fantastic pool bet which gives you the chance to win a fortune for a £2 stake.

The challenge is to select all 6 winners from 6 races during Saturday meetings.

If you meet this challenge you will win a share of the scoop6 win fund, which is frequently worth over £1 million, and you will also get the chance to play for the scoop6 bonus fund by picking the winner of a race the following Saturday.

Even if you fail to select all six winners you can win a share of the scoop6 place fund if your selections place in each of the 6 races. Even this lower prize has paid out over £1000 per winner 11 times in the last 12 months. All this for a £2 stake!

Verdict

Despite shouldering top weight the one that stands out is MIRZA, who will have no problem handling any cut in the ground. The veteran only found the top-class Battaash too good in a Group 3 at Sandown last time out and that followed a good fifth-placed finish in the Scottish Sprint Cup on his seasonal return. Pipers Note has to be respected following his C&D run last time out but he was only a short head in front of Lexington Abbey on that occasion and the latter is 1lb better off with that rival today. Green Door is another who warrants a place on the shortlist for this contest.

Verdict

GREEN DOOR retains all his ability judged on last week's Goodwood third and could take the opener under Umberto Rispoli who has twice been the Champion Jockey in Italy. Pipers Note and Lexington Abbey are closely matched on their placed efforts in last month's Heritage Handicap over C&D and should figure under riders who have had plenty of experience in Britain.

Dual winner last year and solid in-frame efforts first 3 starts this year. Fared as well as could be expected in face of stiff task in Queen Alexandra at the Royal meeting in June. RESERVE.

Verdict

This is not the strongest of races and a chance can be taken with EUCHEN GLEN, who is likely to be a big price. Jim Goldie's four-year-old was successful at Ayr two starts ago and he ran as well as could have been expected, given the trouble he found, in the Old Newton Cup last time out. Swashbuckle's Salisbury win in June is good form and he also warrants the utmost respect. Berrahri, Byron Flyer and Fleeting Visit are others who are considered.

Verdict

Andrew Balding's SWASHBUCKLE has a progressive record on going softer than good and can make light of a 6 lb rise under Neil Callan. Graceland has remained in good form since her C&D reappearance win in May and looks sure to give another good account, while the likeable Byron Flyer has gone close on his last 2 starts and is likely to be on the premises again.

Newcastle maiden winner for John Gosden this winter, who shaped better than bare result when sixth in Ascot handicap (12f, heavy) 14 days ago. Looks well treated and is an interesting contender.

Verdict

Rachel Richardson can crown a splendid week by partnering DANCE KING to success. The gelding landed the Cumberland Plate on his latest start and a 3lb rise for that success is acceptable. Zubayr has a major shout for the Nicholls father and daughter team off a feasible rating, while Tapis Libre has landed his last two starts for Joanna Mason and the C&D winner is expected to deliver another strong performance. Jacbequick and William Hunter continue to perform with credit and both are expected to be in the mix once again.

Verdict

It could be worth taking a chance on SHAMROKH, who is less exposed than his rivals here and shaped better than the bare result when stepped up to this trip at Ascot a fortnight ago. The admirable Tapis Libre looks sure to make a bold hat-trick bid, whilst Zubayr and Dance King are also of interest.

Verdict

Plenty of these have chances but none more so than GAWDAWPALIN, who bounced back to form when winning over C&D last month following a gelding operation. The four-year-old has always been talented and a 3lb rise in the ratings for that success is very fair based on the quality of that race. Niblawi found an unexposed type too good here recently and he should make a bold bid to go one better this afternoon. Those looking for each-way alternatives should consider Oasis Fantasy and Petite Jack.

Verdict

NIBLAWI stepped up significantly on his reappearance to show his best form yet when runner-up over C&D 2 weeks ago, coming from a long way back, and is taken to go one place better. Gawdawpalin arrives on the back of a career-best win over C&D, while hat-trick-seeking Mukhayyam is another to consider.

Landed Group 3 7f event on Rowley Course at 2 yrs and ran best race to date when just touched off under a penalty over that C&D in May. Not at best after a break last time but type to bounce back.

Verdict

Laraaib will be popular after retaining his unbeaten record in competitive Ascot handicap company last month. He looks well capable of handling the ascent into Group class but may not represent much in the way of value. Frankuus has been running with credit in a series of quality contests and should contend again, while Francis Of Assisi is of interest on his first run since his successful Australian adventures last year. However, AUTOCRATIC landed the Brigadier Gerard Stakes in style back in late spring and is just the sort with which his master trainer excels. Further progression is anticipated on this return to action.

Verdict

FRANKUUS might have plenty of miles on the clock for a 3-y-o but he looked better than ever when splitting a pair of smart colts under more positive tactics in this headgear at Hamilton 3 weeks ago and is one of a handful in the field who's proven on soft ground. The unbeaten Laraaib is the obvious threat if handling the going, while Francis of Assisi is an interesting contender on belated return.

Ended long losing run at York in October and largely acquitted himself well in defeat since. Better than bare facts of heavy Newmarket defeat last time. RESERVE.

Verdict

Early Morning would be the clear pick of these on form but ground softer that good could leave him vulnerable this afternoon. Whereas BRIGLIADORO was only beaten a neck by Withernsea, who is very good on soft ground, at Newbury back in May and he followed that up with another narrow defeat at Yarmouth. Nicholas T was outpaced over 7f here when last seen but this race is more realistic, while Examiner could outran big odds.

Verdict

This looks very open, but BRIGLIADORO will benefit enormously for the return to 1m and he could be the answer assuming they go a decent clip. Last-time out winner Breakable will be popular under a 3 lb penalty, while Early Morning won this race 12 months ago and has likely been laid out for a repeat.
