Well held over hurdles to date and hard to fancy.

Verdict

ALFIBOY was beaten by under a length off this mark over a similar trip at Newcastle earlier in the month and should be thereabouts with a repeat performance. The main danger to the selection may be Budarri, who produced his best effort to date when second over C&D 10 days ago. Fort Jefferson is sporting first-time cheekpieces and could finish in the minor money, likewise Derrynane, a recent beaten favourite over C&D who is 9lb higher than when striking at Catterick in January.

Verdict

HARDROCK DAVIS was well supported but didn't get the chance to show what he could do when falling fifth on C&D handicap debut 10 days ago. He remains open to improvement and gets the narrow vote in the hope he keeps the errors at bay. Budarri shaped well last time and along with Fort Jefferson heads up the dangers.

Cashed in off falling mark at Musselburgh in November but not in the same form since.

Verdict

Nefyn Bay is thriving at present and it would come as no surprise if he were to step up on his latest 2m4f victory at Musselburgh and defy a 5lb rise to land a four-timer. However, marginal preference is for REAR ADMIRAL, who got the job done at Newcastle last time despite his rider losing his irons. A 2lb rise for that performance is fair and now he's eased into 0-120 company a follow up may be on the cards. Justforjames is only 4lb higher than when scoring here last month and could play a minor role.

Verdict

JUSTFORJAMES ran well under the circumstances at Carlisle 2 weeks ago and can quickly resume winning ways back at the scene of his latest success. The thriving Nefyn Bay is feared most ahead of Red Admiral.

Verdict

HURRICANE DYLAN lost little in defeat when second over this trip at Uttoxeter earlier in the month and a repeat of that performance may well suffice this afternoon. Stay In Touch has shown promise in bumpers but needs to build on his hurdles effort at Wetherby last time in order to figure. 117-rated Sue Smith representative Quietly could emerge as a bigger danger if he gets round, as he's pulled up on testing ground the last twice and may appreciate this sounder surface.

Verdict

A repeat of the form HURRICANE DYLAN has shown on his last 2 starts could be enough to see him get off the mark here. Quietly hasn't taken to fences but will be a threat if he can recapture the level he showed over timber last season. Stay In Touch should find this placing less pressure on his jumping than a handicap did last time and he looks best of the remainder.

Enjoying a productive season, scoring for the third time over C&D last month. Harried for the lead at Kelso next time and type to bounce back.

Verdict

FRANKIE BALLOU romped to a seven-length success over track and trip when last sighted and although he's 7lb higher, that rise in the ratings is unlikely to stop him in his current mood. Should the selection fall short in his quest to make it four wins from his last five starts at this venue, Oak Vintage, a C&D winner off 6lb lower last month, could capitalise. Chain Of Beacons and Discoverie are others considered capable of making their presence felt.

Verdict

FRANKIE BALLOU continues to thrive on racing, making it 3 C&D wins from his last 4 outings 10 days ago, and can defy another rise. Chain of Beacons is next best ahead of Oak Vintage.

Falling in the weights without really showing enough to suggest she's ready to take advantage, albeit latest course third of 4 was a bit better. Up in trip.

Verdict

Raid Stane clearly hasn't been easy to get right as he makes his first appearance for 666 days on stable debut for Lucinda Egerton. He did show decent form when winning twice at Carlisle and Perth for Julia Brooke, but might just need this outing. Rock Of Leon won well at Wetherby last time but the race did fall apart somewhat, and ALLFREDANDNOBELL could be a more solid option. He was a fortunate winner when left clear at the final obstacle last time, but still would have finished a solid second and he could have more to offer wearing a visor for just the second time.

Verdict

This is trappy. The booking of Brian Hughes suggests NEWSTART is expected to go well in refitted headgear and he might be the way to go. Allfredandnobell reacted well to a visor when scoring at Wetherby and will figure again if the headgear continues to have a positive effect, while Danceintothelight is well capable at this level if on a going day. Ever So Much would also come into it if backed.

Three-time winner over hurdles but bit to prove having offered little in 3 starts between the flags for new yard this year.

Three-time winner over hurdles but bit to prove having offered little in 3 starts between the flags for new yard this year.

Verdict

Diplomate Sivola has some respectable form in the book under Rules but his yard has been quiet in recent weeks, while Eco Warrior won easily between the flags last time out and has to be taken seriously in this company. Similar sentiments apply to SHANTOU PRINCE, who has more recent winning point-to-point form under his belt and looks best suited by this drying ground. Sam's Treasure should be staying on well at the business end.

Verdict

DIPLOMATE SIVOLA didn't shape badly on debut for Philip Hobbs at Ludlow recently and should prove hard to beat in what looks a weaker race. Shantou Prince gets the nod for forecast purposes ahead of the likes of Firmount Gent, Eco Warrior and Pads.

Not really bred for this discipline and was well beaten in a Wetherby bumper for John Weymes in February.

Verdict

It's O Kay looks to be the best of the two Olly Murphy runners over Foxtrot Juliet based on jockey bookings and should go well, although it is a concern that she seemingly refused to go through with her winning effort when holding every chance at Wetherby last time out. It might be worth taking a punt on the Irish raider, DOLLYS DESTINATION, who has some nice form in the book behind the likes of Felix Desjy and Lucca Lady. Cheltenham Festival-winning rider Noel McParlan takes the ride and a big run looks likely.

Verdict

It could be a case of third time lucky for IT'S O KAY, who has failed to justify favouritism in bumpers at Doncaster and Wetherby but has shown more than enough to suggest a race of this nature should be within her grasp. Jumbo Davis makes his debut for a respected yard which boasts a good record here and may emerge as the main danger. Newcomer Whiteoak Fleur is one to note in the betting.
