Won twice over 3m at Huntingdon last season but ended the campaign on a low and offered little on return.

Verdict

PRETTY RECKLESS is pretty difficult to get away from on a hat-trick and Dan Skelton's Scorpion filly should be difficult to beat. She has improved no end since switching to the chasing ranks and, given her connections, should have more to offer. Captain Mowbray represents an upwardly mobile handler and is respected in first-time cheekpieces, while Manwell is another expected to make his presence felt.

Verdict

CAPTAIN MOWBRAY remains a maiden but his last 2 efforts suggest his turn his near and the fitting of headgear can aid his cause. Pretty Reckless and Chasma are others to consider.

Useful juvenile hurdler last season. In need of experience when 15 lengths fourth of 5 on Warwick chase debut/reappearance but should be wiser with that under his belt and likely to improve.

Verdict

FOUNTAINS WINDFALL was no match for some smart hurdlers in Grade 2 company at Wetherby on Charlie Hall Chase day earlier this month but the four-time hurdles winner has less on his plate making his chase debut here and has ground conditions to suit. Stowaway Magic must be respected on his seasonal/fencing debut for leading connections, while Forth Bridge and Work In Progress add further spice to this race.

Verdict

A very useful contest in which a narrow vote goes the way of STOWAWAY MAGIC who had a very productive novice hurdle campaign last term and promises to do at least as well over fences (point winner). Fountains Windfall is another very interesting chasing newcomer, while Popelys Gull is open to improvement on the back of a successful start over fences at Wetherby last month.

Posted career best when winning 10-runner handicap hurdle at Wetherby (16f, good to soft) in March. Might have needed return 2 weeks ago so better expected now.

Verdict

A competitive handicap in which WHIN PARK could outrun a nice price if he's come forward for what was a mediocre comeback run over C&D last month. He's entitled to have needed that outing and there should be more to come from him under a top 3lb claimer. Royal Beekeeper won at Stratford latest but has more on his plate this time, while Towering arrives in good nick and Sutter's Mill is also noted.

Verdict

TUNNEL CREEK has shown improved form since joining this yard and is taken to regain the winning thread. Courtlands Prince took a step back in the right direction at Worcester and is next best ahead of Towering.

Verdict

The unbeaten Equus Secretus is likely to be popular given his unexposed profile and he created a good impression on his hurdles bow. Conceding weight to ANOTHER STOWAWAY will be no easy task, though, as the latter may only have to reproduce the form which saw him finish a three-quarters-of-a-length second to On The Blind Side, a subsequent Grade 2 winner at Cheltenham, at Aintree to land the spoils. Bekkensfirth is interesting on his return from 696 days off the track.

Verdict

This looks a match between ANOTHER STOWAWAY and Equus Secretus, with the former narrowly preferred to come out on top. Tom George's charge was runner-up to the promising On The Blind Side in a hot novice at Aintree last month, and he can open his account in receipt of weight from his main market rival. It will also be interesting to see how Bekkensfirth fares after almost 2 years off the track.

Fair in bumpers, and plenty to like when runner-up to a well-regarded one at Uttoxeter (15.8) on hurdles bow recently. Sure to progress and one to keep on side.

Fair in bumpers, and plenty to like when runner-up to a well-regarded one at Uttoxeter (15.8) on hurdles bow recently. Sure to progress and one to keep on side.

Verdict

PASSING CALL was only touched off by a potentially smart Nicky Henderson-trained mare at Uttoxeter last time out and that effort can be upgraded given that it was her first run for 267 days. She beat the rest of the field comprehensively and can go one better today. Oksana stuck to her task well last time out and should run with credit once more, while Banjo Girl has some smart form to her name and wears a first-time hood.

Verdict

There was plenty to like about PASSING CALL’s debut over hurdles when runner-up to a well-regarded one at Uttoxeter recently, and she should have little trouble winning a race of this nature. Bango Girl remains a maiden, but should give it another good shot on her return, while Mountain Path needs to get back on track.

Shaped a bit better than the result from a long way back at Perth in July but failed to back that up 3 times since and remains a long-standing maiden.

Verdict

HALLINGHAM had no answer to a well-treated type at Fakenham earlier this month but still looks fairly treated and has one of the best conditional jockeys around on board in the shape of Mitchell Bastyan for this assignment. Ken Cunningham-Brown's charge can account for Franz Klammer, who ran a much better race at Stratford last time, and Vado Forte, who remains open to plenty of improvement for Tom Lacey and has a first-time hood here.

Verdict

HALLINGHAM is probably the most solid option here on the back of his Fakenham second at the start of this month, although strong market support for handicap newcomers Franz Klammer and/or Vado Forte would put a slightly different slant on things. It also wouldn't come as a surprise to see Sandy Cove fare better at the second time of asking for Olly Murphy.
