Placed twice in Irish points in early-2018 but represents a yard that isn't noted for having first-time-out winners.

Verdict

Fontwell bumper scorer DANDOLO DU GITE made a promising start to his hurdling career when chasing home odds-on favourite French Crusader at Towcester and, with improvement expected, he might be able to go one better. Comeonthebull was a staying-on second on his NH debut in a bumper here and should appreciate stepping up in trip for his first outing over timber, while triple point-to-point winner Keel Over cannot be ruled out either.

Verdict

DANDOLO DU GITE was above average in bumpers and only found another promising sort too good in a novice at Towcester on hurdling debut, so this looks like an excellent opportunity. Keel Over should benefit from the longer trip and strikes as the main danger ahead of Comeonthebull.

Maiden who was quickly back to form when runner-up at Worcester recently, so despite his obvious limitations, can't be ruled out in a race where a lot of others have questions to answer.

Verdict

Never A Word has been knocking on the door and looks sure to go close again, while Worcester runner-up Gaelic Flow warrants respect with Bryony Frost booked to ride. Head Lad and Maronette are two handicap debutants worth a market check, but HOPONANDSEE edges the vote. Nigel Twiston-Davies has his string in cracking form at present, as this mare's recent performances prove, and a 1lb drop for finishing third in stronger company at Warwick last time gives her every chance.

Verdict

HOPONANDSEE is still lightly raced for Nigel Twiston-Davies and arrives at the top of her game, so she's a fairly straightforward choice to get back to winning ways up against several reappearing rivals. Never A Word is the other form choice, while Head Lad could well prove better than a mark of 90 in time.

Produced best effort to date in first-time cheekpieces when fourth of 15 in 2m Sligo handicap hurdle in August. However, below that level both starts since.

Verdict

Excellent Team has placed on his last couple of starts in handicap company and merits close consideration on his plating debut with first-time blinkers equipped, but his former stablemate ATLANTIC STORM could edge him out today. Now with David Rees, the 111-rated performer is best treated at these weights and he will also appreciate dropping in class. Atlantic Grey, a winner at this level before disappointing in a Newton Abbot handicap last time, looks next best.

Verdict

ATLANTIC STORM has been in good form generally this season and makes most appeal dropping in grade for a new yard. Excellent Team can provide the main threat.

Capitalised on a reduced mark in some style back from 13 months off here in August but well held completed outing since.

Verdict

ONE FORTY SEVEN will have appreciated his Market Rasen reappearance, when finding just one well-handicapped rival too good, and the six-year-old looks capable of building on that useful run now back up in distance for a team among the winners of late. The veteran Moorlands Jack is respected despite looking in the handicapper's grip at present, while Opechee could be revived by a return to a venue he scored at in the summer.

Verdict

ONE FORTY SEVEN matched the pick of his hurdles form when runner-up on second chase start at Market Rasen last month, and against largely uninspiring opposition, is fancied to go one better. Mont Royale is a definite threat in this grade if on a "going" day.

Verdict

HIJRAN made a bright start to life in the handicap ranks at Bangor when last seen, and Henry Oliver's five-year-old could easily have more to offer following a summer break off just a 3lb higher mark. Undefined Beauty is respected for a handler used to having success at his local track, and she could improve for the fitting of first-time cheekpieces. Any rain would bring Shambra into the reckoning, with Toboggan's Fire also respected.

Verdict

UNDEFINED BEAUTY shaped better than the bare result at Southwell last time and could be the answer to this tricky handicap dropped in trip with cheekpieces fitted. The returning Hijran is feared most ahead of Solstalla.

Verdict

DEISE VU unseated his rider at the first fence at Southwell when last seen but his second-placed finish over this course and distance prior to that gives the veteran a big shout this afternoon. Stormbay Bomber has the ability to make the frame in a race of this nature, while Anti Cool has to be noted given his winning form prior to a 779-day break.

Verdict

MOUNTAIN CHIMES didn't set the world alight over hurdles, yet a switch to chasing brought about immediate improvement when third at Bangor recently, looking a threat 2 out but one paced run-in. He's fancied to come out on top in an ordinary affair. Deise Vu and Saffron Prince are also respected.

Capitalised on a falling mark when finally opening his account in 17f handicap chase at Plumpton (17f) in April. Most disappointing here a month later, and back from a break now.

Verdict

CANFORD THOMPSON failed to justify favouritism last time out but he can be given another chance based on his narrow defeat over course and distance on his penultimate start. Chilli Romance performed well in defeat on multiple occasions last season and she could pose the biggest threat to the selection this afternoon, ahead of Clock On Tom and Brother Bennett.

Verdict

CANFORD THOMPSON has largely proved consistent this summer and is narrowly fancied to come out on top re-united with Bryony Frost. Chilli Romance and So Sorry Sarah are 2 of the more likely dangers.
