Verdict

Mister Dick looks to have a tough task on his plate here having to concede weight all round and may be vulnerable to JACK SNIPE, who despite going up 12lb for his eight-length victory at Taunton, should have more to come having clearly appreciated the step up to the extended distance last time. The Last Bridge is also considered off the same mark as his third to a progressive chaser of Ian Williams', Rockrollrambo, and also enters calculations here.

Verdict

JACK SNIPE was having only his second start over the larger obstacles when an emphatic winner at Taunton in December and may have more in the locker yet. His yard has been amongst the winners recently and he is taken to land the opener. Mister Dick and Kilcascan look the principal dangers.

Verdict

Dan Skelton's HONKYTONKTENNESSEE was a game winner over fences at Huntingdon on Easter Monday and makes a quick return to the racecourse, now over hurdles, and looks well treated off a mark 4lb lower than his last outing over the smaller obstacles. Derrick D'anjou can mount a challenge and first time blinkers accompany the usual tongue tie while Shoofly Milly justified favouritism last time at Exeter and is entitled to be on the premises once again.

Verdict

HONKYTONKTENNESSEE's profile for his previous yard was rather patchy, but it may well be a different story for Dan Skelton, and following a winning start over fences last week, he is very much the one to beat. Fellow last-time-out winner Shoofly Milly is feared most.

Unlikely to make any impression on hurdling based on the limited amount she showed in bumpers.

Verdict

Gray Day was disappointing at Sedgefield last time but is considered on his Bangor showing the time before that and is respected. However, THISONETIME has been knocking on the door since joining Dan Skelton and can mount a bold bid here now stepped up in trip. Eaton Hill has chased home some useful novices in Mount Mews and Jerrysback and is another who has to be respected and must go close.

Verdict

The form of EATON HILL's first 2 hurdles outings (won, then finished third, both at this track) is the best on offer in this small-field novice hurdle, so he's taken to put a tame display at Uttoxeter behind him and get back on the up with this step up in trip likely to suit. Gray Day, who also has a poor run to put behind him, is the selection's biggest threat ahead of Thisonetime.

Not the most consistent and this 12-y-o has been below form in recent starts. Eased further in the weights.

Verdict

STORMING STRUMPET turned in a creditable effort when third at Cheltenham on Thursday as he was racing from 10lb out of the handicap. Now racing back off his proper mark, immediate improvement is anticipated. Altiepix attracted support but pulled-up on his last visit here over the extended 2m6f. Of more interest is recent Fontwell second Blandfords Gunner, who was outpaced over 2m1f latest and now steps up in trip.

Verdict

STORMING STRUMPET has been in good form since the turn of the year, running up to her best despite operating from a long way out the weights at Cheltenham on Thursday. She shades the vote in the hope she handles the quick turnaround. The Herds Garden and Altiepix are others to consider.

Hard to justify opening mark.

Hard to justify opening mark.

Verdict

Plenty of these have claims but none more so than THE WAY YOU DANCE, who racked up back-to-back wins earlier in the season and he returns to hurdles today following a run on the Flat last month. Elysian Prince was successful over C&D last week and a 3lb rise for that success appears to be workable. The shortlist is completed by Middlebrow, Our Three Sons and Starlight Court.

Verdict

Dan Skelton probably holds the key to this, and in spite of jockey bookings, DEFINING YEAR is chanced to step up on his stable debut back over a more suitable trip. Starlight Court has plenty of ability, but his will to win is in question, so Elysian Prince is feared most.

Winning pointer who has largely performed with credit in this sphere since joining Roy Brotherton, gaining a deserved first success over C&D last weekend. 5 lb rise looks fair and can follow up.

Verdict

DEISE VU has only been raised 5lb for his pillar-to-post victory over C&D last Saturday and he will be very hard to beat if in the same form this afternoon. Baraza only found one too good at Ffos Las last time out and he could give the selection plenty to think about, especially as he can go forward early on. Ballycash was a point-to-point winner a couple of years ago and he also makes the shortlist on his chasing debut.

Verdict

DEISE VU was well suited by this sharp track when getting off the mark here last weekend and a 5 lb rise may not be enough to prevent a follow up if turning up in similar form. The first-time blinkered Baraza looks the obvious main threat.

Exit To Nowhere mare. Half-sister to fair hurdler Boosha and hurdler Jackieandy. Dam maiden. Modest chaser. Wears cheekpieces. Dual point winner, including last time (Apr 1). Claims.

Verdict

BOUND FOR GLORY has a big chance based on his third-placed finish at Cheltenham last April and the 11-year-old finished second between the flags on his last start back in February. Presentandcorrect was a dual winner in points last year and he proved his wellbeing at the age of 16 when a narrow second in that sphere earlier this month. Others to note are Always Archie and The Banastoir.

Verdict

BOUND FOR GLORY's chasing exploits in 2015 is the pick of the Rules form on show and, arriving in good heart from points, a solid effort looks assured from him, so he gets the vote in a tricky hunter chase. I Believe is something of an unknown quantity and is well respected along with The Banastoir, whose last couple of efforts show he retains plenty of ability.
