Showed a fair level of ability on bumper debut at Stratford in July but didn't come close to matching that form in 2 further attempts in that code.

Verdict

Bumper winner FULL BORE made a smooth transition to hurdles when successful at Bangor last month and should be capable of another confidence boosting run here. Fontwell winner Weightfordave brings a wealth of experience to the table and must be considered with the Skelton team still firing in the winners, while Nylon Speed scored on his stable debut when running on the all-weather and clearly benefitted from a wind operation before that Kempton run last month.

Verdict

FULL BORE didn't do everything right when making a successful hurdles bow at Bangor last month, but there's plenty of ability there and the 6 lb he receives from Weightfordave could prove decisive. Nylon Speed won an AW handicap on debut for Alan King and is likely to be well prepared for this change of code.

Little sign of ability in bumper/2 outings over hurdles.

Little sign of ability in bumper/2 outings over hurdles.

Verdict

LAUGHING LUIS has impressed when landing two bumpers in easy style this summer and Nicky Henderson's youngster holds leading claims as he looks to transfer that form to hurdles on his first timber appearance. Totterdown routed the opposition at Hereford in the spring and would have made the podium on his latest start at Towcester if not falling at the last. Global Anchor showed promise when third at Uttoxeter, while Richard Johnson keeps faith with Tom Lacey's He's A Goer, who could be a live outsider.

Verdict

LAUGHING LUIS won both his outings in bumpers last month and looks a good hurdling prospect for his powerful yard. Totterdown sets a fair standard and rates the main threat ahead of fairly useful Flat performer Fearsome.

Verdict

PEPPAY LE PUGH is yet another to thrive since joining Dan Skelton's string this summer, unbeaten in two starts for the Alcester handler, and despite a 15lb hike from the assessor for his Sedgefield triumph earlier this month, he rates as the one to beat once again in search of a hat-trick. All Is Good is interesting following a summer break and his most recent efforts offer optimism, while Cap Du Nord has been a bit hit and miss since scoring at Sandown in December, but it is interesting that Richard Johnson is booked in the saddle for the five-year-old's first chase start.

Verdict

PEPPAY LE PUGH confirmed himself a much-improved performer for these new connections when easily winning at Sedgefield and is taken to defy a 15 lb rise. All Is Good is worth another chance to build on his chase debut and is next best ahead of Cap du Nord.

Scored over hurdles/fences last year and back to form when runner-up at Bangor last month. Never involved behind Silk Run back there soon after and has since moved yards.

Verdict

FACT OF THE MATTER was touched off by a neck over 3m1f over fences at Cartmel but is taken to gain compensation now competing off a 5lb lower hurdles perch and fitted with a first-time visor. Silk Run backed up her maiden hurdle victory at Bangor when landing a 2m7f handicap at the same venue and will be hoping this step up in trip can help her shake off a 6lb rise. Stratford second Dreamsoftheatre looks best of the rest.

Verdict

SILK RUN was strong at the finish for both wins at Bangor last month, so that augurs well for this step up in trip, and the hat-trick is very much on the cards. Lough Salt and Tynecastle Park appear to be the chief threats.

Verdict

Pickamix held on for dear life to score after his rider dropped his whip and he idled at Newton Abbot in July. He may be vulnerable off 5lb higher now returning from a short break, so preference is for LOFGREN, who appeared to win a shade cosily over the extended 3m1f at Cartmel last month and may be able to defy a 6lb rise. Ballycross is only 3lb higher than when striking at Ffos Las in the spring and is another to bear in mind.

Verdict

Last-time winners PICKAMIX and Call To Order look the pair to focus on, with the former preferred given he's still well handicapped on his earlier chase form. Lofgren is another who should give a good account.

Looks of little account.

Verdict

DORY bolted up by 11 lengths in a 2m4f maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter in July and is expected to give a good account if running to a similar level of form now going handicapping. Massini's Dream has been knocking hard on the door in maiden events and wouldn't be winning out of turn, while Kristal Hart could feasibly follow up her recent Stratford victory following a 4lb rise in the ratings.

Verdict

DORY opened her account over hurdles at Uttoxeter in July and likely has more to offer now handicapping for an in-form yard. She's selected over Just For Tara and Scented Lily.

Verdict

FILEMON returned to form when third over the extended 2m6f at Stratford last time and is expected to go well off an unchanged mark now cutting back in trip. Turban made all to win over the extended 2m3f at Fontwell two starts ago but he was readily held over 2m5f at the same venue when unable to dominate latest and needs to bounce back. A bigger danger may be Heurtevent, who steps up from 2m after striking off 5lb lower at Worcester.

Verdict

FILEMON produced comfortably his best effort to date when third at Stratford earlier this month, and arguably would have gone very close but for making a serious error late on. Still unexposed in this sphere, he could be worth chancing to build on those more positive signs. Jonagold and Courtlands Prince rate next best, in that order.
