20/1, offered something to work on when third of 11 in bumper at Huntingdon (14f, good to firm) on debut 36 days ago. Not discounted now making a quick switch to hurdles.

Verdict

Percy Prosecco made a favourable impression when successful on his hurdles debut at Huntington last month, but he is vulnerable under a penalty. With that in mind, preference is for CAROUSE, who was narrowly beaten on his jumping bow at Ludlow 30 days ago and can only improve for that experience. Others to note are Bodes Well and Elysees.

Verdict

ELYSEES hails from a stable which is traditionally very strong in these events and he's taken to build on last month's Chepstow third and make the most of the 6 lb he receives from Huntingdon-winner Percy Prosecco. Carouse may prove best of the remainder.

Half-brother to smart hurdler Mister Miyagi. Easy winner on point debut in 2017 and shaped well when third at Bangor in April (23f) sweeping to the front before being collared late.

Verdict

WORTHY FARM finished only half a length behind the winner when third on his Rules debut at Bangor back in April. If he can improve for that experience then Paul Nicholls' gelding should prove hard to beat in a race of this nature. The main threat to the selection appears to be De Name Evades Me, who has an official rating of 125 and has already had a run this season at Cheltenham, where a decent second. Captain Cargo has also displayed promise and he is the pick of the remainder.

Verdict

WORTHY FARM impressed with the manner in which he swept to the front on Rules debut at Bangor in April, only to be worn down close home, and this point winner should have plenty more to offer this season. He's taken to improve past standard-setter De Name Evades Me.

Verdict

A race that has been won by the likes of Somersby, Balder Succes and Vibrato Valtat in past years and KALASHNIKOV can add his name to the roll of honour. Amy Murphy's stable star won the Betfair Hurdle last season prior to hitting the crossbar in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham and he should take high rank in this sphere. Huntsman Son was not disgraced when fourth in the Imperial Cup when last seen and he could pose the biggest threat to the selection, with Scorpion Sid likely to pip Lisdoonvarna Lad for third.

Verdict

KALASHNIKOV was one of the best novice hurdlers last season and should take high rank in this sphere being from the family of Kicking King. Huntsman Son is selected for the forecast.

Failed to complete in points and not a great deal of promise to glean from his exploits in maiden/novice hurdles. Market likely best guide now handicapping. Hooded.

Verdict

DJIN CONTI improved for good ground when successful at Wincanton in May and the five-year-old from Harry Whittington's burgeoning string can build on that victory off what could be a lenient opening handicap mark. Mick Thonic was rated in the mid 130's at his best over fences and warrants respect off this much lower hurdles rating with a 10lb conditional aboard, while Finley's Eyes is another handicap debutant who has shown a decent level of form in novice contests and represents a top team.

Verdict

FINLEY'S EYES has shown ability whilst doing plenty wrong in maiden/novice hurdles, hard pulling largely proving his undoing. However, he's in good hands and a well-run 2m handicap promises to suit the son of Beneficial and he gets the nod with better to come. Djin Conti, Peterborough and In The Pipeline are a trio of others to consider.

Lightly raced in recent years, winning 3m handicap chaser here in April 2016. Second in a point in April but was let down by his jumping back under Rules the following month. Off since.

Verdict

MORNEY WING was a runaway winner at Fontwell last month and despite a 12lb rise for that easy triumph, it would be no surprise to see Charlie Mann's nine-year-old strike once again while the ground is in his favour and he is clearly thriving. Irish Octave is capable of running well fresh and could prove a major challenger if able to repeat the best of his staying chase form. Kilmurvy is 6lb higher than when scoring at Newton Abbot in the summer but can't be ruled out, while Gardiners Hill was beaten less than a length on his Ffos Las reappearance and is another for the shortlist.

Verdict

IRISH OCTAVE is very likeable and he’s taken to resume winning ways having not been seen to best effect last time. Indian Native and Travertine head up the opposition.

Ran best race for a while when second at Chepstow in February but has disappointed since. Hard to predict.

Verdict

JARLATH won this race last year off 1lb lower and caught the eye when second at Fontwell when last seen. The seven-year-old shaped like a winner in waiting there, and it is worth noting that Tom O'Brien now rides for the first time. Too Much Too Soon has been a beaten favourite the last twice but may improve returning from a five-month break at Carlisle 15 days ago, while West Wizard looks best of the remainder.

Verdict

TOO MUCH TOO SOON has made a positive start for this yard and still has races in him judged on his good second at Carlisle 2 weeks ago (pulled clear of rest). West Wizard remains in good form and is next best ahead of last year's winner Jarlath.

Verdict

Point-to-point winner Printing Dollars cost connections 60,000 pounds and looks sure to give a good account under Sam Waley-Cohen, while Eleanorofaquitaine has finished second in two Newton Abbot bumpers and could go close again. However, Ben Pauling is 7-16 with his runners in this sphere here over the last five years so ANIGHTINLAMBOURN receives the vote. She is related to plenty of useful types and is expected to know her job on debut.

Verdict

DARLING DU LARGE found Grade 2 company at Aintree a bit of a culture shock in April, but she'd looked promising at Doncaster prior to that and she possesses the scope physically to do well this season. Eleanorofaquitaine is capable of better too, while Printing Dollars and Agent Valdez are point winners representing successful yards.
