Looks limited.

Looks limited.

Verdict

Northandsouth struck off 5lb lower at Lingfield on his penultimate outing but pulled too hard when third at Warwick latest. If he can settle better this afternoon a big run could be on the cards, though preference is for Sedgefield scorer PRINCESS MONONOKE, who represents an in-form stable and is expected to take a 5lb rise in her stride. C&D winner Hartside, up 3lb for his recent Doncaster victory, is also considered.

Verdict

PRINCESS MONONOKE took care of limited rivals with the minimum of fuss at Sedgefield 3 weeks ago and a 5 lb rise looks lenient. Hartside also tasted success last time and he too remains with handicap scope, while Northandsouth also arrives in a good vein of form.

Clearly not the easiest to train (long gaps between her last 3 runs), but offered something to work on from her basement mark when fifth of 16 in handicap hurdle here in December. Makes chase debut.

Verdict

FLEMERINA was putting in her best work in the closing stages after finding 2m3f on the sharp side at Market Rasen last time. Improvement is anticipated now Sue Smith steps her nine-year-old back up in trip. Massini's Lady has been knocking hard on the door since returning from a break and wouldn't be winning out of turn, while there was lots to like about Hepburn's recent Leicester second so she's another to bear in mind.

Verdict

FLEMERINA has shown enough aptitude for chasing to think she can win a race in this sphere before long. Hepburn is evidently competitively handicapped, so would hold every chance on her chasing debut if reproducing her latest effort over hurdles, while Massini’s Lady is pick of the remainder.

Poor maiden on the Flat who left her hurdling debut form behind when second of 6 in juvenile at Catterick (15.7f) 18 days ago (hooded). Form only ordinary.

Verdict

ROSMUC RELAY, a point winner in December, made a winning start for Kim Bailey on his first run under Rules at Leicester in January and is expected to remain competitive under a penalty. Teescomponents Lad dead-heated for first place at Catterick last time and has an obvious chance, too. Well Smitten is worth a market check with Richard Johnson booked, though Catterick second Hazy Manor may be a bigger danger.

Verdict

ROSMUC RELAY made a successful debut over hurdles in the manner of a strong stayer at Leicester last month, and he looks up to defying a penalty. Teescomponents Lad remains unexposed, while it would come as no surprise to see General Consensus leave his hurdles debut form well behind.

Left in front after the first when resuming winning ways at Bangor and another good effort when second at Haydock. Remote third at Kelso since, however, and 3 lb out of handicap.

Verdict

Fair Loch looked tired on the run-in when scoring over 2m1f at Market Rasen last time and may be vulnerable off 5lb higher. The vote instead goes to his stablemate, PISTOL PARK, who has Brian Hughes booked and is fitted with a first-time tongue-tie on his first start since undergoing wind surgery. Dresden is up 7lb for his comfortable Catterick victory but has place claims all the same in what appears a very competitive contest.

Verdict

PISTOL PARK hasn't fired in 3 starts this season but is now only 1 lb above his last winning mark and could be worth chancing back from a break/in a first-time tongue strap. Dresden justified support at Catterick last month and remains of interest, while Vengeur de Guye took a step back in the right direction at Kelso.

Verdict

ALONG CAME THEO has knocked on the door the last twice, including over course and distance last time. He holds serious claims off 5lb higher with Brian Hughes taking over in the saddle and he was only three lengths adrift of leading Stayers Hurdle contender Supasundae here in a bumper as a young horse. Track and trip winner Cowslip has been going well for 10lb claimer Aaron McGlinchey of late and is respected, while Star Of Namibia still appears well treated following a long break.

Verdict

NORTHERN GIRL shaped a bit better than the bare result when third on her Ayr handicap debut last month and could be the way to go with further progress on the cards. Along Came Theo was only narrowly denied here on Boxing Day and rates an obvious threat under Brian Hughes, while Cowslip will also figure if bouncing back to the form she showed when scoring at Bangor in December.

Respectable fifth at Newcastle earlier this month but likely to struggle from so far out of the weights here.

Verdict

It is interesting that Brian Hughes climbs back aboard MILLY BALOO who threw away a near certain victory at Catterick last time when running out at the last. The assistance of the leading northern rider can keep her on the straight and narrow here and she can take this at the expense of Lunar Flow, who is heading in the right direction and a tongue-tie comes on now as well as the blinkers. San Pietro and Sue Smith's Just Georgie are other possible winners.

Verdict

LUNAR FLOW may have gone off too hard when a creditable second over C&D last time and remains fairly treated. He has had a wind operation since and could be the answer here. Milly Baloo would have scored at Catterick last time, but for running out late on, and rates the principal danger. San Pietro is also respected.

Mastercraftsman filly. Half-sister to 3 winners on Flat, including 6f-9f winner Sikeeb. Dam 1½m winner. Likely outsider on debut.

Verdict

It's O Kay, a half-sister to the useful Copper Kay, was a beaten favourite at Doncaster on her debut but is capable of finishing much better closer this time around and is sure to be a popular choice. Paper Promise was impressive when a seven-length victor at Musselburgh last time and is penalised accordingly, so preference is for MAEBH, who was a taking winner here last time when outbattling a well-regarded rival, and there should be more to come up in trip.

Verdict

The fact IT'S O KAY went off a short-priced favourite in a big-field event at Doncaster on debut suggests she's highly thought of and she can strike at the second time of asking under Richard Johnson. Maebh was successful over 1½m here last month but her pedigree suggests she'll be better suited by this longer distance and she may provide the main threat ahead of Musselburgh-scorer Paper Promise.
