Looked limited at up to 7f for Jeremy Gask but worth checking out in the betting up significantly in trip on first run for Mick Easterby.

Verdict

ROCK ON DANDY made a decent fist of things on his reappearance at Leicester and this longer trip could suit the son of Rajsaman, who is related to a couple of winners over this distance. Secret Soul ran respectably for third over slightly further here last time and has claims off 2lb lower, while Permanent went close on turf at Lingfield before struggling last time and has claims if back to his best.

Verdict

SECRET SOUL was seemingly just stretched by 11.5f when third here last time and this unexposed sort from a good yard looks worth siding with dropped into a Class 6 for the first time. Epsom Secret will be a threat if she can translate her AW form to turf, while Permanent will also figure if recapturing the form he showed when runner-up at Lingfield on his penultimate start.

Beaten a long way on both starts. Needs to improve markedly for the drop in trip to have a big say in matters.

Verdict

Airshow has filled the runner-up spot on his last two starts, both at Chepstow, and is well worth a second glance, but EXPECTING is preferred here. Charlie Hills' colt was not disgrace on his debut over 6f here, but ran much better over this C&D last time when beaten just over a length into fourth. He would not have to improve much to take this. Avenging Red was not too far away at Bath on debut, while Awesometank could be the pick of the newcomers.

Verdict

AWESOMETANK is a newcomer from a top yard and gets the nod to make a winning debut under Pat Cosgrave. Airshow and Expecting bring some fair form to the table and look sure to figure, while Global Rose cost a bit at the breeze-ups and would also enter the reckoning if the betting suggests she's fancied.

Thrice-raced maiden. Last of 5 in minor event at Brighton (6f, good to firm, 4/1) 3 weeks ago.

Verdict

This doesn't look the strongest novice stakes on paper, so it may afford RUNNING CLOUD the opportunity to get back to winning ways. Hugely impressive when winning by four lengths at Wolverhampton on debut, he failed when favourite at Salisbury last time but may be better on a sounder surface. Expelled is of interest for James Fanshawe on debut, while Richard Hughes' newcomer Rustang also enter calculations.

Verdict

RUNNING CLOUD let favourite backers down last time but the promise of his debut win is still fresh in the memory and he's worth another chance. The betting will provide more clues with regards the newcomers but Fiery Breath is one who takes the eye a bit on paper under Pat Cosgrave.

On a long losing streak and well held both starts this term. Something to prove at present.

Verdict

SUPER JULIUS has hit a rich vein of form of late, winning well at Wolverhampton before following up a week later at Brighton. Eve Johnson Houghton's gelding could complete a hat-trick here, having been raised just 3lb for the most recent win. Stepper Point is capable on his day but was well beaten oat Ascot on Saturday, while Dark Shot was only beaten a length last time, despite finishing fifth, and could prove a tough nut to crack too.

Verdict

DARK SHOT travelled powerfully for a long way in front over 6f here last time and this looks a good opportunity for Andrew Balding's charge to show he's still a sprinter on the up back down at the minimum trip. The hat-trick seeking Super Julius should go well again, while this represents a drop in class for Majestic Hero

Debut winner at Newbury (6f) last year and better for return when a respectable third to Sayem over C&D a fortnight ago. Headgear reached for now.

Verdict

Sayem had Funky Footsteps back in third when successful here last time and could confirm that form despite meeting on 5lb worse terms, while Canberra Cliffs has been a model of consistency of late, albeit over a couple of furlongs further. ANGEL'S QUEST gets the vote, though, as she ran respectably in three maidens before just missing out in a Newmarket handicap last time. Just 3lb higher here, she can open her account.

Verdict

BLUSHING ROSE remains with potential with her 2 runs this year unlikely to have got to the bottom of her and she gets the vote from Angel's Quest and Canberra Cliffs in a competitive-looking fillies' handicap.

Verdict

ALCATRAZ has been on a losing run dating back to May 2015, but he has been running consistently well including when missing out by a head at Newmarket last time. This could be his chance to secure a second career win, though Hollywood Road won here on his penultimate start and ran well for third at Newbury so will not make life easy for the selection. Chelmsford second Classic Villager and dual Chelmsford winner Celebration Day also merit respect.

Verdict

HOLLYWOOD ROAD will get a good pace to aim at here and can resume his progress with another C&D win. Calvados Spirit will be one of those likely to be out in front early and his latest effort here gives him sound claims, while The Twisler is a potential market springer on his first start for Neil Mulholland from a tempting mark.
