Keen and faded in 7f Newmarket event on recent debut, showing promise all the same. Should improve.

Verdict

QIANLONG missed out by just a short head on his debut last time and those who backed him into favouritism that day should not lose the faith after that effort. Snazzy Jazzy won nicely at Goodwood and looks the biggest danger, though there are a couple of interesting newcomers to contend with in the shape of William Haggas' Society Power and the Richard Hannon-trained Heidi.

Verdict

QIANLONG showed plenty and just failed on his debut at Nottingham a fortnight ago. He is expected to build on that and can go one place better here. Society Power is a very interesting newcomer, while the penalised Snazzy Jazzy can't be ruled out despite being absent since his Goodwood victory.

Won twice at Southwell at the turn of the year. Well held on turf the last twice but type to pop up again at some point.

Verdict

Michael's Mount returned to winning ways with success at Lingfield last time, but he has struggled off his revised mark in the past, while Outback Blue has looked a likely scorer off his current mark and gets another chance here. Carnival King has been getting closer to success and is respected, but LEXINGTON LAW has slipped to an attractive mark despite having been in or around the places for much of this turf season. He can strike here.

Verdict

ESKENDASH has been given a break since his disappointing run at Leicester and he's worth another chance keeping in mind the excellent form of his previous second over C&D. Lexington Law is proving most consistent and the fitting of headgear could be the catalyst to bring about a first win. Boycie and Mia Tesoro are respected also.

Verdict

UAE QUEEN had a horse now rated 70 well behind when successful at Yarmouth on her third start and an opening rating of 77 could prove very lenient for Roger Varian's filly. Medicean Ballet went close off today's mark at Newbury and is another to note, while recent Sandown runner-up Carducci and High On Love, who filled the runner-up spot over this C&D last time, are others likely to make an impact.

Verdict

UAE QUEEN looks a filly to follow and can back up her Yarmouth victory with a successful handicap debut here. Kyllachys Tale should give another good account and looks the main danger ahead of Carducci.

Hit the target over this C&D for the second time in May. Typically in-and-out since, though, and the percentage call is to look elsewhere.

Hit the target over this C&D for the second time in May. Typically in-and-out since, though, and the percentage call is to look elsewhere.

Verdict

ICE AGE has produced almost all his best form of the season over this C&D and certainly wasn't winning out of turn here last time. A 5lb rise for that commanding success is fair and he can follow up. Lightning Charlie has struggled at Goodwood in two of his last three starts but won at Ascot in between those runs and may prefer a flatter track, while Upstaging followed up a C&D success with a good third at Goodwood so is evidently versatile and in good heart.

Verdict

DOUGAN has been threatening to come good in a race like this on turf and this could be the day when everything clicks. Indeed, a strong pace looks assured and he's 1 lb lower compared to when finishing fifth in a strong York handicap last time. Upstaging has to be feared following his fine effort in the Stewards' Cup but Atletico, who has low mileage for a horse of his of age, is the main danger.

Stepped up on 2-y-o form when placed on first 3 starts in handicaps this season. Perhaps conditions were too testing when well held at Bath recently and claims if able to bounce back.

Verdict

CAPPANANTY CON won narrowly at Wolverhampton last time but is not only an all-weather performer as he went close on his last outing here. Dean Ivory's grey is taken to get the better of Beck And Call, who won on the turf at Lingfield two starts ago but struggled at Newbury last time. Lydia's Place ran well last time and is considered if there is a sound surface, while Sandfrankskipsgo is consistent and always worth a second glance.

Verdict

MAAZEL found things happening too quickly back at 5f last time and, likely to get a good pace to aim at and with the addition of blinkers a potentially good move, he could be the answer. Lydia's Place is in good form and merits respect, while Shackled N Drawn needs a second look and Peace Dreamer still has low mileage. However, the selection may have most to fear from C&D winner Sandfrankskipsgo.
