Verdict

Oneroa stepped up on her three qualifying runs when held by a just a head on her handicap debut over 7f here and another bold bid looks likely off the same mark. However, she appeared to relish the step up in trip that day and the return to 6f may not be ideal here, so preference is for SNAFFLED. David Brown's charge also improved to fill the runner-up berth on his handicap bow, over 5f at Southwell, and the step back up in trip and switch to Tapeta may help. Takeonefortheteam could leave behind his maiden form now stepping into handicap company.

Verdict

ONEROA travelled like one ahead of her mark when failing only narrowly on last week's course handicap bow and this looks a good chance for her to go one better. Snaffled made a solid start to life in handicaps when runner-up at Southwell recently and looks next best ahead of Lady Sophiebella.

Still capable of fairly useful form for Richard Fahey at this time last year but bit to prove after finishing well beaten on both outings for this yard.

Verdict

Ballymore Castle kept on well to land a 6f seller here last month and is sure to be have his supporters, but that was only her second win from 36 outings and a repeat effort is far from guaranteed. Letmestopyouthere only found one too good in a 7f handicap at Southwell 12 days ago but is another with a poor strike-rate so the vote goes to AL KHAN. The veteran was only beaten a length into fourth in a similar event at Lingfield last time out and that form has been boosted by the third winning since.

Verdict

Little to separate a few in this claimer. AL KHAN has won on this surface and might be worth siding with to snap a losing run with Nicola Currie taking 5 lb off. Cricklewood Green merits respect dropping to this level for the first time, while Energia Flavia and Ballymore Castle might have had their confidence boosted by recent course wins and are likely to figure again.

Verdict

HUMBERT returned from over a year off to land a 1m Kempton maiden in style last month - form boosted by the second and third winning since - and the manner in which he pulled clear suggests this extra furlong could unlock plenty of further improvement from the lightly-raced four-year-old. An opening mark of 83 could well underestimate his potential and he is taken to land the double, possibly at the main expense of Mythical Madness, who has slipped to a mark 3lb lower than when he won this race 12 months ago. Hidden Steps is also beginning to look feasibly treated again.

Verdict

MYTHICAL MADNESS was successful off 2 lb higher on the last occasion he competed at this level and is taken to make his class tell under top weight. Humbert lacks experience but he looked a nice prospect when running away with a Kempton maiden last month and is possibly a big threat. Hidden Steps looks best of the rest.

Twice-raced maiden. 100/1, tenth of 12 in maiden at this course (8.6f) 56 days ago, slowly away.

Verdict

Versatile with regards to trip, Sam Missile is dropping in class here and should play a leading role, but may have to give best to STAR ARCHER. Hugo Palmer's charge showed plenty of promise in his juvenile campaign, hacking up in a Haydock maiden before running with credit behind the top-class Coronet in a Newmarket Listed race and although a 15-month layoff is a concern, he should be up to beating these rivals if the ability remains. Island Song rates best of the remainder.

Verdict

STAR ARCHER was prominent in the betting for a listed event when last seen 15 months ago so is evidently well regarded and will surely take a bit of stopping if whatever has kept him off the track is behind him. Sam Missile and recent Lingfield debut fourth Elite Treaty can battle it out for the forecast spot.

Verdict

If taking to this artificial surface and getting the marathon trip, FRONTIERSMAN should prove tough to beat here. Runner-up in the Coronation Cup and Princess Of Wales's Stakes in the summer, Charlie Appleby's charge sets a clear standard in this conditions events and represents a yard in flying form at present. Watersmeet is match fit and proven over this trip and at this venue so, along with the returning Curbyourenthusiasm, looks most likely to capitalise if the selection fails to fire.

Verdict

FRONTIERSMAN has a few quirks but he's very talented (runner-up at Group 1/2 level last summer) and there's a chance he'll simply have too much class for his rivals here. Watersmeet is capable of smart form at his best and could be the one for the forecast spot ahead of David Simcock's Curbyourenthusiam.

Career best when winning 7-runner handicap over C&D 19 days ago, keeping on well to beat Perfect Solider 2 lengths. Likely to give another good account.

Verdict

MARATHA quickened up impressively when finally getting a gap to score in style over this C&D last month and a 5lb rise doesn't look enough to halt him as he bids for a double this evening. Mount Tahan had to work harder for his victory over this track and trip last time out but has scope for further progress over this sort of trip and is only 3lb higher now. Fayez could pick up the bronze medal.

Verdict

MOUNT TAHAN has taken very well to this surface in recent weeks and can make light of a 3 lb rise, most likely at the main expense of Maratha, another who is very much going the right way on AW.
