Respectable sixth of 10 in nursery (10/1) at Kempton (6f) 16 days ago, though looks too high in the weights.

Verdict

SOSUME was third in a hot maiden at Wolverhampton last time and could build on those exertions. That was his first run for six weeks, and he represents a handler who is 4-12 with juvenile runners at this venue in the last five years. Isaan Queen showed good early pace when second at Chelmsford last time and was unlucky not to hold on there despite giving away weight, while Nostrovia is improving and could prove best of the remainder.

Verdict

ISAAN QUEEN's opening mark looks a fair one and she ought to go well if proving as effective back on turf. Sosume remains with potential now handicapping, while Nostrovia is also respected for a yard that continues to impress in this division.

Verdict

BOERHAN did it well on debut at Newbury when dead-heating with a more experienced rival and the son of Sea The Stars can defy a 6lb penalty here. The 270,000gns yearling looked green throughout there and should build on that effort now over a mile. Abwab is entered in the Derby and needs a betting check for Sir Michael Stoute, while Felix performed well on debut last month and could prove best of the remainder now on turf for the first time.

Verdict

Royal Lodge entry BOERHAN looked a useful prospect despite showing clear signs of greenness when dead-heating at Newbury on his debut last month. He can defy a penalty en route to better things. Murray River is in excellent hands and should step up on his debut effort, while Abwab is perhaps most interesting of the newcomers.

Once-raced maiden. Sixth of 7 in maiden (16/1) at Newmarket (7f, good to soft) on debut 40 days ago.

Verdict

William Haggas won this last year and runs two this time, with HIDDEN MESSAGE the pick of the pair given that she holds an entry in the Group 2 Rockfel at Newmarket later this month. A daughter of Scat Daddy, the two-year-old is expected to know her job and can account for King's Girl, who is improving with every start for Sir Michael Stoute, and Promote, who landed a gamble when winning on debut at Newcastle earlier this month.

Verdict

HIDDEN MESSAGE makes plenty of appeal on paper and could give William Haggas back-to-back wins in this race. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained pair King's Girl and Mulan head up the opposition.

Good second of 9 in handicap (6/4) at Ffos Las (14f, good to soft) 37 days ago. This is a better race but he's well-bred and may yet do better.

Verdict

MAGELLAN was unable to land a blow on his latest start at Haydock when fourth to Huge Future a fortnight ago, but a step up in distance and first-time cheekpieces could bring about further improvement. Uber Cool was last seen at Royal Ascot when seventh to Pallasator in the Queen Alexandra having progressed nicely before that effort, while Sharja Silk gets a fair amount of weight with the three-year-old allowance and went close to gaining his first success at Ffos Las.

Verdict

MAGELLAN has gone on really well this summer and there could be further improvement in him, especially now upped in trip and fitted with cheekpieces. Lord George is interesting on the pick of his form from his current mark, with Uber Cool and Sharja Silk others to consider.

Latest win at Windsor in July. 5/2, 1¾ lengths last of 3 to Floria Tosca in handicap at Bath (11.6f, firm) 15 days ago, meeting trouble as the sprint for home began.

Verdict

FLORIA TOSCA is beginning to go the right way after a slow start to her career, with wins at Leicester and Bath. She comes here 5lb higher than her last success, but the manner of her victory last time suggested there was a fair bit more to come. Nassya has first-time blinkers which should sharpen her up after her handicap debut at Windsor in July, while Rare could make a mark of 76 look lenient if able to produce her debut effort at Lingfield.

Verdict

FLORIA TOSCA is quickly going the right way now and may well be up to completing the hat-trick. Nassya may have a bigger performance in her yet, especially when granted a stiffer test. Potters Lady Jane completes the shortlist in an open affair.

3 wins from 5 runs this year. 9/1, seventh of 9 in handicap at Sandown (5f, good to soft) 6 days ago. Possible he will step up on that effort.

Verdict

MAZZINI needs to leave behind a lacklustre effort over 7f at Chelmsford last time but can compete off a 12lb lower turf mark this afternoon and could feasibly improve for the drop into 0-90 company. Polybius was behind the selection in a claiming handicap at Chelmsford last month but remains fairly treated on his current mark and wouldn't be winning out of turn. Excellent George, who is 2lb higher than when scoring over 5f at Newmarket last month, looks best of the rest.

Verdict

LADY FREYJA seemingly relished the drop back to this trip when scoring at Newmarket 34 days ago, ultimately winning with a bit in hand. She may have more to offer at this sort of trip and receives the vote. Lightning Charlie and the frustrating Polybius rate next best.

Thirteen runs since last win in 2017. Blinkered for 1st time, fifth of 6 in handicap (8/1) at Kempton (6f) 16 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Hard to fancy.

Verdict

KHAMRY has won both of his last two starts over 7f, either side of a 6f defeat at Kempton, and could feasibly make it 3-3 over 7f now going handicapping. If a mark of 87 proves beyond the selection then Colonel Frank, a recent C&D winner off 2lb lower, could be the one to pick up the pieces. Nobleman's Nest is having his first start since undergoing wind surgery and is also entitled to improve for the fitting of first-time cheekpieces.

Verdict

HUMAN NATURE remains well treated after a 3 lb rise for his win from Colonel Frank here last month and is taken to strike again. Khamry is the unknown quantity in the field and could be the danger having struck at Lingfield when last seen.
