Verdict

Those with form do not inspire a lot of confidence and this race can go to one of the many well-bred newcomers in this field. The Craven Breeze-up Sale is often the best sale of its type in Europe and LEGENDS OF WAR clearly impressed during his breeze after connections paid a sale-topping fee of 900,000gns to secure the son of Scat Daddy. He is closely related to plenty of turf winners and the Scat Daddy/Rahy cross has already produced last year's Coventry third Murillo. Charlie Appleby's juveniles always have to be respected and Leading Spirit has a pedigree that suggests that he should be sharp enough for this test. San Donato is another expensive purchase, having cost 500,000gns last year, and his dam was Listed placed as a juvenile. Charm Spirit has made a good start with his first crop of two-year-olds and he is represented by Wiretap, who shares his page with the Cheveley Park winner Vorda.

Verdict

A promising-looking bunch of newcomers, with 900,000 gns buy LEGENDS OF WAR perhaps the pick of them. San Donato wasn't cheap either at 500,000 gns as a yearling, with Leading Spirit another very likely type in a race where the market may reveal plenty.

Verdict

Burford Brown finished in midfield in a very competitive maiden at Newmarket on his debut last September and he has to be respected in this much easier contest. That said, the preference is for DOSC, who makes his belated racecourse debut today. The son of Dream Ahead is a half-brother to the Group 1-winning sprinter G Force and this 85,000 euro purchase does not need to be a superstar to win this race. Ad Valorem Queen and Lalania are the pick of the remainder.

Verdict

BURFORD BROWN showed speed and ability when mid-field in a good Newmarket maiden last year and, with a chunk of improvement anticipated, he looks a likely sort to get off the mark provided he's fit enough to do himself justice. Ad Valorem Queen remains with potential based on her encouraging debut and Dosc is an interesting newcomer.

Verdict

SCOONES' sole victory to date came at Lingfield last September off a mark of 65 and his last couple of efforts have suggested that another victory may be around the corner. The lack of turf form is a concern but he has only tried the grass on three occasions and he should be capable of winning on the surface. Go On Gal and Widnes appear to be the main threats.

Verdict

A drop in the weights enables SEAN O'CASEY to take in this grade of handicap for the first time, and with De Sousa in the saddle, a bold bid can be expected. Scoones and Go On Gal are feared most unless there's money about for Free Forum on his return to action.

Verdict

BAILARICO landed the spoils when well backed before his debut for Warren Greatrex at Chepstow last week, and the former Godolphin-owned son of Dubawi is fancied to make light of a 6lb penalty here. The five-year-old has plenty of scope for improvement in this sphere and can account for What A Party, who is a past course winner and ran well at Lingfield earlier this month, and Kerre, who has first-time cheekpieces and Jamie Spencer on board.

Verdict

No reason to oppose BAILARICO in his bid to follow up his impressive winning debut for Warren Greatrex under a 6 lb penalty, the bulk of the opposition either out of form or poorly handicapped. Kerre looks an interesting alternative for an in-form stable and Shan Dun Na Ngall is too well treated to completely dismiss.

C&D winner. 11/1, respectable third of 6 in handicap at Brighton (7f, good) 15 days ago. Others more persuasive.

Verdict

Call Out Loud is a consistent sort but does find winning difficult, while Noble Star remains lightly raced for his age but is unraced on this likely fast ground. Mujassam deserves respect as a past course and distance winner, but this can go the way of Mick Channon and SAYESSE. A specialist in such conditions, the booking of Andrea Atzeni is a positive one, and the pair are certainly drawn to attack coming from stall one.

Verdict

The fact that KAESO could land a four-timer in handicaps last year underlines just how progressive he was and following a positive reappearance (met trouble) when fifth at Ascot, it's worth taking the chance that he can resume his improvement and get back to winning ways. The in-form Call Out Loud and unexposed Noble Star are the clear dangers.

Verdict

SCREAMING GEMINI was third to Misu Pete here on his most recent start at the start of the month and may benefit from the change of headgear to a first-time visor. Seyasah returned to winning form here over 7f last time and might have more to offer stepping up to a mile. Others to consider include Lunar Deity, who has been running well recently on the all-weather, and Cryptonite.

Verdict

SEYASAH was a ready winner over 7f at this venue on reappearance 3 weeks ago, and representing an in-form yard, her follow-up claims appear to be bright. Lunar Deity is well weighted back on grass and is feared most, with Screaming Gemini another to consider.

Verdict

Limerick Lord has been in excellent form recently with a trio of successes at Southwell since the beginning of March but he may just prove slightly vulnerable returning to turf despite not being entirely disgraced when fourth at Brighton on his penultimate start. Slow To Hand warrants consideration on his effort last time over a mile but MOI AUSSIE's C&D success last week gives him the vote.

Verdict

SLOW TO HAND was well clear of the others when beaten only by a very well-treated sort at this course (1m) last week so, provided he's come out of that race fine he should take all the beating from the same mark. The selection was undone by a Chris Wall trained horse on that occasion and Deciding Vote, from that same yard, could provide the biggest danger here ahead of Limerick Lord.
