EVE JOHNSON HOUGHTON has accumulated a highly respectable £385,852 in prize money this season with a total of 39 winners from 265 runners, which amounts to a healthy 15 per cent strike rate.
Last year year ended with a personal best of 41 winners, and that record should soon tumble with her Woodway Stable in Blewbury continuing to thrive and a near miss last weekend with Super Julius at Sandown after Favourite Royal added to the tally at Epsom last week.
Stable stalwart What About Carlo could well chip in with another success before the end of the campaign and there could be further contributions from the progressive sprinter Ice Age as well as Scarlet Dragon and Silver Ghost.
The three-year-olds have also paid their way this term and there should be exciting times ahead for the likes of Jake’s Hill and On To Victory.
Eve said: “I am thrilled with the way the season has gone and if we carry on we will pass our personal best. We have some nice horses and plenty to look forward too.”
Eve kindly gave an insight to her team with Tony Elves of ATR.
