COSMIC THUNDER has improved with every run since returning from a lay-off and may prove good enough in the opener as he drops in class. Pasta Giovanni and Mr. Pinocchio are others facing an easier task today while King Mauro was narrowly beaten in this grade last time.
LA NENA DE PAPA is getting closer and found only one too good in a similar contest over track and trip last time. She can confirm running with Devuelta, Lil Bay Corvette and Chocolate Candy and open her account. Appealing Lalibela can also figure if lasting home after placing over 6f here.
MARIO'S REVENGE won at this level last year and was beaten only a length here on Christmas Eve when well ahead of Proud Enough. The latter was also behind Cotton Colors earlier while the inconsistent Forever Di won by six lengths back in November.
CLEAR N CONVINCING was placed at Belmont last year and has been gelded subsequently. He may well improve enough to land this for Chad Brown's powerful yard. Southern Greatness is more exposed but Daddy's Cozy and Playing Hooky have every chance with any further progress.
SOUPER CATCH is upped in class but followed an impressive maiden win with a nine-length demolition of the opposition here last month and is worth a try in this grade. Iconic, Carlino and Adulation are similar types with a chance but Robusto needs to improve for the Pletcher yard.
CASH CALL KITTEN could be thereabouts on his racecourse debut given trainer Mike Maker has a good strike rate in maiden claimers and this won't take much winning. Captain Bober is another newcomer to note while Get A Move On It finished runner-up on his penultimate start.
FLYING GIRL returned a clear winner here last month and should make another bold bid in her current form. Most of the other principals are old foes and Gran Chama beat Felina's Song and Motion's First when winning here last time but had earlier finished behind Rara.
RAY'S THE BAR has gone close the last twice now and finished in front of several of these in the process. He gets a speculative vote in something of a lottery with the likes of Liquid Aloha, Salt Mine, Tonedaddy and King Power others with a chance.
ADIOS LITTLE ED drops in class on only his third start and may prove good enough in another wide-open claimer given he's less exposed than the rest. Dreamin Of D'wild, Night Rythm, Twas Nero and D. Shifflett are old enemies that take it in turns to beat each other.
ENCHANTING KITTEN went close in this grade last time and Chad Brown's filly is less exposed than stablemate Warranty though the latter bids for a hat-trick and also has decent claims. Magical Sky is another to consider and Krazy Kathy arrives in good form.
MIDNIGHT BUFFET caught the eye making up late ground here to finish fifth here on last month's debut. Normal progress should see her reverse running with third-placed Momenta Kat and she gets the nod. The latter should figure once again and Circle The Bases also has a shout in this grade.
