RICHARD SPENCER is now in his fifth full season with a trainer’s licence and his partnership with owner Phil Cunningham has seen them gain their most prestigious successes in the two-year-old division.

Rajasinghe cemented the alliance in no uncertain manner when landing the Group 2 Coventry Stakes in 2017 when based in Newmarket’s Albert House and, moving into a start-of-the-art Sefton Lodge a year later, there was a further Group victory when Rumble Inthejungle took the Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood in 2018.

There was more modest success achieved last year with Odyssey Girl, Champagne Supanova, Alabama Whitman and Bill The Butcher but Spencer is more than pleased with his most recent intake of juveniles and, like everyone else, is looking optimistically forward to the resumption of Racing.

Richard kindy spoke to Tony Elves of about some of his two-year-olds that he hopes will be in action shortly.

Please note: Where a horse exists in the ATR database we have linked to its form and tracker profile below, we will update others when they become available.

Bay Colt: Cable BayGranadilla
"He was bought at Arcana for 52,000 euros and he is qualified for the French premiums. He is doing everything nicely and it looks like we will probably start over six furlongs and, hopefully, we might take him to France a bit as well. He was bought to do that with the premiums and he also has a couple of Sales race entries in England. "

Chestnut Colt; Dandy ManMaids Causeway
"He is owned by a new owner in the yard, John Power, and he is a nice big two-year-old colt who is out of Maids Causeway who was a very good racemare (won the Coronation Stakes and also runner-up in the 1000 Guineas). He will probably start to do some faster bits of work soon and he is one we will, hopefully, have out in June. He is nice two-year-old and one that will progress as the year goes on – he has a lot of size and substance to him."

Brown Colt; EquianoTesary
"He is from a family we know well and is half-brother to Thrilla In Manila who won for us on his two-year-old debut at Newbury. He is probably not going to be out early but is one for the backend of the year. He is a nice two-year-old but he is just growing and developing now. He will probably start over six furlongs."

Grey Filly; MarkazPetite Cherie
"She is owned by Mrs Cunningham and she is a nice filly who will probably start over six furlongs. She is one that I think will not just be a pocket rocket but will develop into a nice filly for next year as well. She goes nicely and she only cost 5,500 euros."

Chestnut Filly; Fast CompanyDame Plume
"She is probably one for the middle to the backend of the season but she goes nicely. She is from the family of Jet Setting and whatever she does this year she will be better next year but  she does everything nicely and we like her a lot. We will start her over six or seven furlongs."

Grey Filly; Dark AngelSilk Bow
"She is a Dark Angel filly who was bought at Doncaster for £82,000 and she is very sharp and very forward. We will start her off over five furlongs as soon as we can and she will probably be one of her first two-year-old runners. "
