The Richard Hannon juggernaut rolled on last season with his 153 winner netting well over £4 million in prize money and, as always, there was healthy contribution from the Juvenile division.

Hannon has farmed the valuable Sales races over last few years and there was another major payday in that league when Mums Tipple took £147,540 for spellbinding success in the Goff UK Premier Yearling Stakes at York in August. The Hannon team had another arrow hit the bullseye at York when Threat took the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes and the Cheveley Park Stud-owned colt went onto land the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster a month later.

Classic glory was attained when Fox Champion won the German Two Thousand Guineas last year and the same owner’s Mystery Power gave them further aspirations for this season when landing another Group 2 win in the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket in July.

The juveniles from Herridge and Everleigh Stable are invariably well-versed in their requirements before making their racecourse debuts and Richard kindly spoke to Tony Elves about some that he hopes can make the grade this season.

Please note: Where a horse exists in the ATR database we have linked to its form and tracker profile below, we will update others when they become available.

Bay Colt; Canford CliffsCake
"He is a very nice colt who is by Canford Cliffs out of mare Cake and full-brother to Tomily who won us plenty of races.  He looks very sharp and one to get on with early."

Bay Filly; No Nay Never – Made To Believe
"She is a very nice filly owned by Denford Stud. She is by No Nay Never and she looks like she could take a bit of time but could be a lovely six or seven furlong filly for later on in the year. She is quite tall."

Bay Colt; Olympic Glory – Naan
"He is one of Julie Woods’s and he will probably want six or seven furlongs. I would say we could have him out in June and he is showing the right signs."

Bay Filly; Dandy Man – Rugged Up
"She is a sharp little filly by Dandy Man and she could end up in a Sales race in Ireland at the end of the year. She cost £25,000 at Doncaster Premier Yearling Sale and the dam has produced three winners."

Bay Colt; Acclamation – Xema
"He is a very nice colt – quite forward and quite strong looking. He is a typical Acclamation early sort and he was bought at Doncaster for £72,000 – he is half brother to five winners and looks the part."

Bay Colt; Twilight SonSpangle
"He is a very nice son of Twilight Son and cost 32,000gns at Tattersalls. He looks like he could be a nice sort."

Brown Filly; Kodi BearShortmile Lady
"She is a lovely filly by Kodi Bear and she is a half sister to Lemista who won a Group 3 at Naas the other week for Ger Lyons. She would be one to look out for."

Bay Colt; Dark Angel – Red Lady
"We have a few Dark Angel’s and this was one got out of Tattersalls Book 1 for 125,000gns. He looks a nice sort and is another we are looking forward to running. This is the dam’s second foal of racing age but there is plenty of black type in his pedigree and he could do well."

Bay Colt; Prince of Lir – Folegandros Island
"He is one of King Power's and he cost 260,000gns out of Book 2 at Tattersalls last October. He is a half brother to Fox Champion who won the German 2000 Guineas for us and he’s a very very nice horse. The sire won the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot and this is a very nice colt."

Chestnut Colt; Gleneagles – Reine de Plages
"He is a nice colt by Gleneagles who has been doing everything right at home and we like what we see so far."

Chestnut Colt; Night of ThunderDust Flicker
"He is a very nice horse by Night of Thunder and cost €100,000 at Goffs Orby sales . The  stallion has done very well and hopefully this colt can enhance his reputation still further."

Un-named Colt
Bay Colt; MehmasRipalong
"He cost £82,000 at Doncaster Premier Yearling Sale and he is related to Oh This Is Us who has done so well for us. He is a very nice young horse and he should be out early – he is two bits of work away from running."

Un-named Colt
Bay Colt; MaxiosTrimurti
"He cost £27,000 at Doncaster Premier Yearling Sale and is owned by Middleham. He looks a nice sort and hails from the family of the champion racemare Shiva."
