WELCOME to our new Eyecatchers column. Every week Alan Thomson will be pinpointing horses primed to strike in the next few weeks, if not days. Remember, you can add Alan's weekly updates to your ATR Tracker.

SILVALA DANCE ATR Tracker
(Yarmouth, 7 August)
Seemed to appreciate a return to turf after five straight runs on the all-weather and Chris Wall's filly mopped up this poor contest with little fuss. The four-year-old is still languishing on a low mark and, with her liking for some ease underfoot, Silvala Dance should find similar opportunities plentiful during an autumn campaign.

ELSINIAAR ATR Tracker
(Haydock, 9 August)
Sent off favourite for this mile handicap after winning his maiden here three weeks earlier, but was being bustled along fully three furlongs from home. Elsiniaar eventually plugged on into fourth behind unexposed Cornrow, leaving the impression he might be worth a try at a slightly longer trip.

CLON BRULEE ATR Tracker
(Newmarket, 9 August)
Was a most progressive handicapper for David Barron before being snapped up by the Godolphin operation but he never looked at home in Meydan last winter. Clon Brulee was more his old self here, drawing clear of Master of Finance on only his second outing since February and this sturdy five-year-old will surely win again on his preferred softer ground.

MAZOULA ATR Tracker
(Windsor, 10 August)
Possesses only limited ability at the moment on the evidence of three runs for Hugo Palmer but she didn't fare badly in running fourth to Some Show in this six-furlong maiden. Mazoula might well find a nursery within her grasp before the year is out.

FAJRY ATR Tracker
(Wolverhampton, 11 August)
The new Tapeta surface got the thumbs-up from racing's professionals and Fajry looks the type to benefit once the surface has bedded down and rides a bit slicker in the weeks ahead. The Godolphin colt won his maiden at Thirsk on good to firm and doesn't look handicapped out of things on a mark of 84 judged on his close-up third to robust stayer Mazaaher.

PRIMROSE VALLEY ATR Tracker
(Wolverhampton, 11 August)
Ed Vaughan's filly looked a Tapeta natural as she skipped round the bend and quickly put daylight between herself and the chasing pack. Well-backed to deliver the goods, she clocked a good relative time and is worth sticking with around here..
