(Beverley, 16th April)
Fairly rattled home in third in this 10f handicap after finding himself in a poor position turning for home. Ed Dunlop's colt had previously scored comfortably over a furlong longer at Kempton and Liberty Red should pick up more races.
(Ripon, 17th April)
Hadn't shown an awful lot since hammering Clockmaker seven lengths in a Chester claimer last June (made all) for previous handler Dandy Nicholls but travelled like the winner for a long way here, eventually fading into third. The seven-year-old was checked at a vital stage and probably found this 10f trip just beyond him. David O'Meara should find Marcret a winning opportunity.
(Newmarket, 17th April)
At his best with a bit of cut in the ground, French Navy recovered from a sloppy start to chase home the admirable course specialist Mull Of Killough. Charlie Appleby's six-year-old should remain competitive in Listed/Group 3 class.
(Newmarket, 17th April)
Won a Sandown maiden (soft) on his sole start as a juvenile and Richard Hannon's colt has gone the right way judged on this excellent second to useful Cloudscape in a hot 10f handicap. Windshear showed a good attitude when headed by the favourite, with a decent yardstick in Volume well held in third.
(Ripon, 17th April)
Never put into this mile maiden from a wide draw, eventually coming home fifth, beaten 13 lengths, under considerate handling. David Barron's gelding may turn out to be pretty average but surely there's scope for improvement when sent three-year-old handicapping.
(Cork, 20th April)
Stepped up considerably on his initial racecourse appearance to land a nice touch for Tony Martin. The Plan Man absolutely hacked up and the trainer might be tempted to keep his four-year-old going on decent summer ground.
