WELCOME to our Eyecatchers column. Every week Alan Thomson pinpoints horses primed to strike in the next few weeks, if not days. Remember, you can add Alan's weekly updates to your ATR Tracker.

PERCEIVED ATR Tracker
(Nottingham 23 September)
The handicap route beckons for Henry Candy's filly after this encouraging third run, over a mile. Perceived was outpaced at halfway but ran on stoutly into fourth and this Sir Percy juvenile out of a Generous mare will doubtless stay further in due course.

RED CHARMER ATR Tracker
(Beverley 23 September)
The four-year-old rarely troubles the judge, with only two wins from 23 starts. Red Charmer seems to save his best for Hamilton's stiff uphill finish and he was tapped for toe then short of room in this Class 5 handicap won by Blue Maisey. Red Charmer is nicely handicapped after slightly losing his way this summer.

BETA TAURI ATR Tracker
(Newcastle, 23 September)
Charlie Appleby's juveniles have been in scorching form but Beta Tauri isn't one of his flying machines. Sent off a 20-1 shot in this seven-furlong fillies' maiden, she was never sighted under her apprentice rider before making moderate late headway into eighth behind All About Time and stablemate Hollie Point. Under more aggressive handling, Beta Tauri may well step up on her debut effort.

AETNA ATR Tracker
(Newmarket, 25 September)
Mick Easterby holds a high opinion of his four-year-old filly and this fine run in third would do nothing to dampen his enthusiasm. Ground conditions were a tad too lively for Aetna but she stayed on to finish less than a length behind winner Secret Hint, despite stumbling coming out of the Dip and finding herself short of room close home. This was Aetna's first outing since whipping useful duo Baccarat and Blaine at York on soft ground in May and she is worth following when underfoot conditions play to her strengths.

MISS MARJURIE ATR Tracker
(Newmarket, 26 September)
Despite beating subsequent winner Stromachion at Epsom earlier in the season, Miss Marjorie found this elevation into Listed company just too tough an assignment. However, Denis Coakley's filly ran well for a long way before hoisting the white flag in a finish dominated by the three-year-old division. Miss Marjorie also ran useful handicapper Mighty Yar close over course and distance in May and will be of interest when her sights are lowered.

FIRST REBELLION ATR Tracker
(Wolverhampton, 26 September)
Only moderate but the five year-old retains a willing attitude in low-grade sprints. The gelding bounced out in front but was quickly joined by hot favourite Indastar, the pair cutting each others' throats and setting the race up for closer Major Muscari. The Tony Carroll-trained First Rebellion, a previous course winner, may be able to dominate in similar company this autumn/winter.
