Tribal Chief skips the Moet & Chandon International at Ascot this weekend in favour of the Qatar Goodwood Festival.
Trainer David Menuisier is keeping his charge closer to home and as the five-year-old already has a win to his credit on the rather unique track, believes he ticks more boxes than some.
Whether he runs in the Coral Gold Mile, in which he was a close sixth last year, or the Coral Chesterfield Cup over a mile and a quarter has still to be decided.
“We’re going to go to Goodwood with him,” said Menuisier.
“Hopefully he’ll land a big one soon. He’s won at Goodwood before and that is a massive plus when you are going there.
“We just need to decide which race to go for. He’s in the Golden Mile which he ran well in last season or whether we go for the one-mile-two handicap.
“It would be just his second run at the trip, but he runs like he’ll get it.”
