Brian Meehan is not expecting the drop in trip to inconvenience Esna when she lines up for the Longines Valiant Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.
The Starman filly has acquitted herself well this season, finishing fourth at Newmarket before picking up Listed honours at Newbury to earn a shot at the French Oaks.
Being drawn 11 of 11 did her few favours at Chantilly, however, and after racing keenly on the outside of runners she finished well beaten in last place.
She had been much closer to Diamond Necklace when fourth in the Prix Marcel Boussac on Arc day, having accounted for the useful Morshdi before that.
Meehan said: “She’s been good since Chantilly, she won an Oaks trial so deserved to go there for the Prix de Diane.
“We’re going to drop back in trip for the Valiant with her and we’ve been happy with her so she’s all set for the weekend.”
