Several hold good chances in a deeply competitive handicap for amateur riders. TEX, who got up late to defy the consistent Dannick in a similar event over a mile here last month, should have no issues dropping back down a furlong and looks a key player on the forecast going. Fellow last-time winners Kaleidoscope Eyes and the veteran Documenting are also capable of holding their own in this company and are serious threats to the selection over this trip, while Norcross Brow and Son are just a couple of others with place claims.

The two newcomers Ibtekar and India's Ridge are bred to win races and support in the betting for either would be highly noteworthy. However, the rest have the edge in terms of experience, with PINK LARKSPUR shading the vote after finishing clear of the rest when second to a Fillies' Mile entrant on her debut at Kempton. Learning is suggested as the pick of Richard Hannon's pair, having improved with each start so far. Concurrent is well-bred and entitled to be wiser after her introduction at Salisbury.

COCKADE is highly likely to have more to offer and his opening mark of 90 suggests he could progress to be well above average. Therefore, this could prove to be a significant in a race of this nature for the Pinatubo colt, who already shares the mantle of being one of the highest-rated horses. Drymee and Final Night also have big chances based on the official figures and are capable of making this a good test. A Major Payne is also dependable enough to be on the premises.

INFRAAD continued his upward trajectory when readily accounting for 16 rivals in the Melrose at York and he looks more than capable of completing a hat-trick now pitched into Listed company. The son of Ghaiyyath took that step up in distance in his stride and he's fancied to fend off chief threat Galiyan. Andrew Balding's colt wasn't disgraced when fifth in the St Leger and is entitled to the utmost respect down in class. Galilean Quality heads the remainder.

The penny appears to have dropped for Pilu judged on his recent victories at Newmarket and Yarmouth, with a career-high mark of 91 looking workable on that evidence. However, another step up in class demands more of the three-year-old and recent Ayr Silver Cup second GOLDMOYNE makes greater appeal. James Owen's charge was only collared in the dying strides and compensation could be on the cards off just a 2lb higher figure. Newmarket winner Northcliff and handicap debutant Yordan are others of interest.

Recent Ffos Las winner Just An Hour is a potential improver stepping up to 2m, but a 5lb penalty does ask more of him given that he only prevailed by a neck. With that in mind, this could prove a suitable opportunity for CRANACHAN to follow up his commanding six-length triumph at Chester. Although the assessor has taken no chances with a 9lb hike, there should be more to come from the lightly-raced three-year-old over this trip. Shipshape may fare best of the remainder.
