Aidan O’Brien is simply a phenomenon in the world of racing. Since being appointed as the trainer in the historic Ballydoyle complex in 1996 at the age of just 26, he has broken every record worth breaking and won every race worth winning in Europe and beyond.

As well as everything else, Aidan has always tried to bring a strong team to the Breeders’ Cup. He has been rewarded with 20 victories during his illustrious career with the likes of High Chaparral, St Nicholas Abbey and Found all recording memorable successes. Indeed, that haul of 20 winners makes him the joint most successful trainer in Breeders’ Cup history, putting him level with the legendary D. Wayne Lukas.

Aidan will be hopeful of adding to that tally in 2025 and is also chasing his own world record of 28 Group/Grade 1 winners in a year, he currently sits on 25. He talked to Kevin Blake of attheraces.com to discuss the prospects of his Del Mar 2025 team.

Watch the 2025 Breeders’ Cup from Del Mar live on Sky Sports Racing (Sky 415 | Virgin 519) on Friday 31st October and Saturday 1st November.
