Henry de Bromhead (23 October 2024): "I was delighted with Minella Indo’s comeback run at Punchestown last week. He ran a cracker. We don’t have a big plan for him at the minute, but the switching of the cross-country chase at the Cheltenham Festival into a handicap is a blow to the likes of him, but we’ll see how it all plays out. He’s rising 12, but we’d have to keep another go at the Grand National in our minds given how well he ran in it last season."

Henry de Bromhead (05 March 2024): "Indo is in great form. He seems to really enjoy the cross-country obstacles and you’d have to be delighted with his run under such a big weight in the cross-country handicap in December. The conditions of this race will obviously suit him a lot better. He brings a huge amount of class to the race, so hopefully he gets a clean passage around and can run a big race."

Henry de Bromhead (08 November 2023): "We were absolutely over the moon with him at Punchestown. It was great to see him back performing like that after the way he ran in the Gold Cup at the Cheltenham Festival. He seems in great form, and he will most likely run in the Champion Chase at Down Royal on Saturday. Longer term, we know he is getting a bit old for the very top-level staying chasers, so the likes of the Grand National will be considered and we’ll be guided by his next few runs as to what the right thing to do is."

Henry de Bromhead (26 October 2022): "He came back in from his summer break looking really well and we’ve been happy with his early work. We are going to take a different approach with him this season and will look to start him off in the Savills Chase at Tramore on New Year’s Day. We’ll see how Tramore goes, but if all goes according to plan there, he might well go straight to the Gold Cup at Cheltenham from there. We’ll wait and see."

Henry de Bromhead (22 February 2022): "He lives beside A Plus Tard, so they spend a lot of their time eyeing each other up and trying to psyche each other out! He’s in great form and it was really good to see him run so well in the Irish Gold Cup. I was annoyed with myself for running him at Kempton. I was trying to put a square peg in a round hole and trying to hammer it in with a sledgehammer! Looking back on his Down Royal run, he could just as easily have been ridden with similar tactics at Kempton without the cheekpieces, but we tried to force it and it went wrong. We live and learn. I don’t think we’ll be putting the cheekpieces back on him. This season has a similar feel to last year in that it feels like we are building up to another big run at Cheltenham. I was never a big believer in the theory of a horse being a “spring horse”, but Indo is making me think that might be one of those."

Henry de Bromhead (12 October 2021): "He has summered really well and looks great. We are planning on starting him off in the Ladbrokes Champion Chase at Down Royal at the end of this month. We might not keep him quite as busy this season, but we’ll start at Down Royal and work from there. The King George at Kempton will be an option for him after that."

Henry de Bromhead (21 April 2021): "He’s in great order. He’s so laid back that when we backed off him for a few days after the Gold Cup, he started getting chubby straight away, so we weren’t too long getting back to work with him. He was on the beach this morning and he loved that. Our intention is to run him in the Ladbrokes Punchestown Gold Cup. The one concern we’d have is that he has been quite busy this season. It had been our intention to keep him busier this season, but it’s natural to be slightly worried when you get to the end of such a campaign. In fairness to him though, he is giving all the right signs and seems in great form. Jack Kennedy will ride him if he’s available."

Henry de Bromhead (09 March 2021): "He’s in very good form. The Savills Chase obviously didn’t go well for him, so we wanted to run him again and get a clear round of jumping into him. The Irish Gold Cup was where we went and while I was a little bit disappointed immediately after the race, there were plenty of positives to take from it. Jack Kennedy schooled him the other day and he was very happy with him. He’ll ride him in the Gold Cup. He seems to come alive at Cheltenham and we’ll look to ride him a bit more forwardly there."

Henry de Bromhead (09 October 2020): "He’s in great form and the intention is to give him more racing this season. He’s so laid back and takes a lot of work to get fit, so we think he’ll benefit from starting back a bit earlier and being kept busier. There is a Grade 3 for second-season chasers at Wexford on October 26th that we have our eye on to potentially start him back in. He ran a cracker in the RSA Chase and did very little wrong bar missing the last there. That run would encourage you that he’ll be able to compete in open company this season."

Henry De Bromhead (28 February 2020): "He’s in great form and we’re going to run him in the RSA Chase. I was delighted with his las run. It’s tough around Navan and he ground it out well. That form has been working out nicely since then too. Inexperience would be a slight concern going into the RSA, but it didn’t hold him back in the Albert Bartlett last year, so hopefully it won’t hold him back this year."
