Andre Fabre will keep Wind Chimes for the French 1000 Guineas after her defeat in the Prix la Grotte.
Owned by the Coolmore triumvirate of John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith, the Mastercraftsman filly won both her starts at two last year.
Sent off favourite for the Group Three trial over a mile earlier this month, she disappointed in fifth but there may have been valid excuses.
“I was a bit frustrated, but we did have one or two little issues getting her ready,” said Fabre.
“I think a mile might be beyond her a bit. She was travelling well at seven furlongs but didn’t quicken.
“It’s more likely that she will run in the Pouliches (French Guineas), but we will have a look for some seven-furlong races, there just aren’t many of them.
“I would prefer to run her over seven but we’ll see, the Pouliches is an option but she definitely won’t come to Newmarket.”
