Paul Hanagan took the riding honours with a 193-1 four-timer at Musselburgh on Friday.

Call Him Al (15-8), trained by Richard Fahey, got the ball rolling with a neck call over Biscuit Queen in the BAM Construction Handicap.

The two-time champion jockey then scored on Keith Dalgleish’s Diamonique (3-1), who lifted the EBF Miller Homes Conditions Stakes from Magical Duchess with 1-3 shot Armageddon only third of four.

Hanagan rode another winner for the Fahey stable through Crotchet (11-4), who was three-quarters of a length too good for Forever A Lady.

He made it four on Rebecca Menzies’ Trautmann (7-2), who got up in the final strides to score by a head and a neck from Enemy Of The State and Falcon’s Fire.

Enemy Of The State’s jockey Ben Robinson picked up a two-day ban for using his whip above the permitted level.

He was referred to the headquarters of the British Horseracing Authority as it was his fifth such suspension in six months. He was also banned three days for careless riding in the same race.

Hanagan was out of luck on his only other ride, Pantomime, who could never strike a blow in the Western Toyota Hilux Handicap which went to the Gordon Elliott-trained Kuiper Belt.

The 4-7 favourite won in cheeky fashion by a neck from stablemate Hurricane Volta.

Luke Morris reached the landmark of 1,500 British career winners when steering Timoshenko (11-4) to victory in the Archerfield Cup Handicap.

Sir Mark Prescott’s young stayer was completing a five-timer in outpointing Austrian School by a neck over two miles.
