Connections of dual Grade One winner Terrefort have earmarked the BetBright Trial Cotswold Chase at Cheltenham on January 26 as his next target.
The Nicky Henderson-trained five-year-old is being aimed at the Grade Two contest on his return from a spell on the sidelines, having met with a setback when failing to beat a single rival on his seasonal bow in a Listed event at Sandown last month.
Anthony Bromley, racing manager to owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, said: “Terrefort is back in proper exercise and the aim is the Cotswold Chase at Cheltenham at the end of January.
“Nicky was pleased with him on Saturday. He was really pleased with how he is moving.
“They went right back to basics with him and the muscular issues in behind which went into his hamstring.
“Clare Alexander rides him out and was pleased on Saturday with how he was moving – she said he feels like he is moving like his old self.
“It was disappointing what happened at Sandown, but if everything is right he will head to Cheltenham next month.”
