Bryony Frost has been taken to hospital for precautionary checks after a fall from Billy My Boy in the conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot.
The Grade One-winning rider had made the running on the Chris Down-trained gelding and was still in contention when the saddle slipped right round at the penultimate flight and she was unable to keep the partnership intact.
As she lay on the ground, Frost appeared to be caught in the stomach by another horse.
Her father, trainer Jimmy Frost, said: “They have taken her to hospital for precautionary checks on her tummy.
“Her stomach was stepped on and it hurt quite badly, so she’s having it checked out.”
