Beringer justified favouritism at Leicester in the BetVictor.com Handicap but trainer Alan King is not making any grand plans just yet.
Racing in the colours carried to victory at Royal Ascot by Primitivo, Beringer never looked in any danger in the hands of Martin Harley.
The 11-4 favourite travelled sweetly behind the leaders before being urged to go clear a furlong out and was good value for a two-length defeat of Dr Medici.
“He’d come forward from Newmarket and appreciated the slightly softer ground,” said King.
“He won at Salisbury last year but then disappointed twice. We just sorted his wind out in the winter.
“I think this (10 furlongs) is his trip for now but he’ll get further eventually. I’ve nothing in mind for him, though.”
Ralph Beckett’s Di Fede won the feature race, the Million Pound Bet With BetVictor.com Fillies’ Conditions Stakes.
Only four went to post but with half a furlong to go three of them still held a chance.
The odds-on favourite Sheikha Reika eventually saw off the challenge of Hugo Palmer’s Unforgetable Filly, winner of the German 1000 Guineas last season. But she could not hold off the late lunge of Di Fede (100-30), who won by three-quarters of a length.
Apprentice jockey Ben Sanderson was given a 10-day ban in the six-furlong seller, won by Acrux (2-1 favourite).
Sanderson was adjudged to have dropped his hands on Kody Ridge, who ended up finishing fourth.
Paul Cole’s Over The Guns caused a 40-1 surprise in the Million Pound Bet With BetVictor.com Maiden Auction Stakes.
The penny did not drop until late on for the son of Garswood, who powered home to beat Indian Viceroy by three-quarters of a length.
Global Conqueror (4-6 favourite) finally got off the mark in the first division of the one-mile maiden, while division two went to newcomer Piece Of History (4-1) in a marginally quicker time.
