Trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam is keeping her fingers crossed recent Goodwood winner Uber Cool makes the cut for the Ascot Stakes at the Royal meeting.
The four-year-old finished down the field on his first two starts this season before making it third-time lucky at Haydock last month.
He followed up less than a fortnight later under Frankie Dettori, and Chapple-Hyam is targeting her charge at a race she won with Judgethemoment in 2009.
She said: “We would rather got to the Ascot Stakes than the Northumberland Plate.
“I think his profile is right for the Ascot Stakes, we won it a few years ago with Judgethemoment and he has a similar profile.
“The last two years he wouldn’t have got in the race, but the previous years before that he would.
“He has taken that Goodwood race good and is in top order, but it is just a bit touch and go regarding Ascot.”
