Richard Hannon’s Raymond Tusk is unlikely to run at Royal Ascot.
The Middleham Park Racing-owned three-year-old won a Newbury maiden in devastating style on his debut in April, but has not been seen since.
“He came out of the race fine, but about a fortnight ago he scoped dirty,” said Tim Palin of Middleham Park.
“We had one or two entries in for him, but we had to back off him for 10 days or so.
“When we entered him for the King Edward VII we were hoping to get another run into him, but I suspect it’s too much of a job to go from a one-mile maiden to a Group Two over a mile and a half.
“We’ll probably go somewhere a bit steadier and not as far up in trip, Ascot is just going to come too soon, I think.
“His maiden could hardly have worked out much better and he’s very exciting, but we’ve just run out of time for Ascot I think, unless he works the house down this week.”
