Saeed bin Suroor blamed the quick ground for Benbatl’s disappointing effort in the Queen Anne Stakes on day one of Royal Ascot.
The son of Dubawi was sent off favourite for Tuesday’s Group One prize, but finished a well-held 10th on his first start since capturing the Dubai Turf at Meydan in March.
Bin Suroor said: “Benbatl didn’t like the ground. It was too quick for him. He enjoys the ground a bit better than that.
“We will keep our options open for him and enter him in plenty of races.
“We will see how he is over the next few days then make a decision on where he goes.”
