Study Of Man will put his Derby credentials on the line in the Group Two Prix Greffulhe at Saint-Cloud next Tuesday.
Trained by Pascal Bary, the son of Deep Impact won his only start as a juvenile and then chased home Chilean in a Group Three last month.
He holds an entry in the Investec Derby and the French version and how he fares at Saint-Cloud will dictate plans.
“It was only his second run the other day,” said Alan Cooper, racing manager to owners Flaxman Stables.
“He is still in at Epsom but we’re just going to take it race by race. We haven’t won a Group race yet so we’re not getting carried away.
“He’s in at Epsom, he’s in the Prix du Jockey Club (French Derby) and let’s hope he lives up to being able to run in one or the other.
“So far he’s only raced on heavy but he’s by Deep Impact so you’d think better ground will suit him. It’s got to stop raining one day.”
