Eminent is set to take on five rivals as he makes his seasonal debut in the Homeserve Huxley Stakes at Chester on Friday.
Martyn Meade’s colt was a leading three-year-old in 2017, winning the Craven Stakes and a Group Two in France and running creditably in the 2000 Guineas, Derby and Irish Champion Stakes.
Aidan O’Brien, successful with Deauville 12 months ago, relies upon War Decree. The four-year-old was last seen finishing down the field behind Benbatl in the Dubai Turf at Meydan in March.
Forest Ranger defeated Deauville in the Earl of Sefton Stakes on his first run since being gelded.
His trainer Richard Fahey has also declared the nine-year-old Gabrial. The veteran will be making his fifth appearance in this race, having finished third in 2013 and fourth in the last three years.
Sir Michael Stoute, who has won this Group Two contest a record six times, is represented by Winter Derby fourth Convey.
The Mark Johnston-trained Frankuus, well beaten by Forest Ranger at Newmarket, completes the sextet.
