Nicky Henderson intends to get Top Notch back for the ABF Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon on December 9 after having to scrap plans to run him at Ascot on Saturday.
Henderson had hoped to give the classy performer the chance to win the Christy 1965 Chase for the second year running, but has had to wait a few more weeks to get him back on the course.
“He had a bad reaction to a flu vaccination about month ago, but he is getting there,” said the Seven Barrows trainer.
“It is amazing, you do get some horses that do get it and you can’t do anything about it.
“The Christy 1965 Chase would have been perfect for him, but the Peterborough Chase will probably now be his most likely starting point.”
