Lucy Wadham is considering giving Shanroe Santos the chance to go one better than 12 months ago in the December Handicap Chase at Cheltenham.
The nine-year-old could bid to follow up his victory in the Southern National at Fontwell in the Grade Three contest on December 14, having found only the Colin Tizzard-trained Robinsfirth too good last year.
The Newmarket handler said: “I was really happy with Shanroe Santos at Fontwell. It was a very strong staying performance and his jumping has really come together this year.
“He has an entry in the Welsh Grand National and we might have a look at it.
“I wouldn’t mind going back to Cheltenham, though, for the Grade Three race that he finished second in last year. It cut up a lot last year, so we might think to go back there again.
“He has got form on softer ground, but he does jump better on better ground. The good thing is there are a few options for him.”
