Joseph O’Brien’s Ming is likely to rack up plenty of air miles in the coming months with the Northern Dancer Stakes in Canada next on the horizon.
Ming was last seen finishing fast to claim sixth in the Secretariat Stakes, beaten less than four lengths on his first run in the colours of Mohammed Hamad Khalifa Al-Attiyah.
“He might go to Canada for the Northern Dancer in a few weeks time. He ran a nice race in America and may have been third but he got a knock at the bottom of the straight,” said O’Brien.
“He’s been bought by Qatari owners and we are very lucky to have them in the yard. I suppose Qatar might be an option in February so we’ll work back from then.
“It was nice to see him run like that as prior to that he’d only run in conditions races, but that proved he belongs at that sort of level. It was a good run.”
O’Brien will also try to repeat his win in the Moyglare Stud Stakes on Irish Champions Weekend with Iridessa.
Intricately was successful for the same owner, Chantal Consuelo Regalado Gonzalez, two years ago in the Group One.
“She ran well in the Debutante and will head to the Moyglare. She’s probably one of the best two-year-olds we have at the moment,” said O’Brien.
