Trainer Nick Littmoden believes there is more to come from Fearsome, who ended the year in the same vein as it began with victories at Lingfield.
The Makfi gelding struck at the Surrey venue in January and February and wound up 2018 with two wins there in December.
Fearsome was also successful over hurdles at Fakenham to register five victories from a total of 15 races. He ran one of his best races in defeat when third to Anemoi at Ascot in November.
“He had a really good year. He’s a really good type and we have the option of going hurdling as well,” said Newmarket-based Littmoden.
“The race at Ascot has turned out to be one of the best novice hurdles so far this year. The winner is pretty handy and the runner-up, Pym, came out and ran a pretty good race at Cheltenham.
“We’ll keep our options open. He can obviously carry on on the all-weather, but if we found the right hurdle race we’d do that.
“He’s off a handy mark at the minute and able to keep going on the all-weather.
“He’s a progressive type and thrives.”
