Ben Pauling is considering the Sky Bet Supreme Trial Rossington Main Novices’ Hurdle at Haydock on Saturday for his promising youngster Bright Forecast.

The five-year-old, who sports the famous Embiricos family silks worn by 1981 Grand National winner Aldaniti, is unbeaten over timber.

Wins at Newbury and Leicester have marked him out as above average, but he will face a much sterner task if he runs this weekend as current Supreme favourite Angels Breath is due to line up.

“Bright Forecast came out of Leicester well,” said Pauling.

“He is a very nice horse and won well at Leicester under a penalty. I was delighted with the way he went about his job.

“He stays very well and enjoyed himself from the front at Leicester, having previously stayed on to score at Newbury.

“I think we will stick at two miles for the moment and the Rossington Main is a race we could go for.”
