Tom Mullins could be doubly represented in the Irish Grand National with Spider Web and Oscar Knight in the frame.

Spider Web won the Munster National in October but broke a blood vessel when beaten favourite in the Troytown Chase at Navan.

“Spider Web had a break after the Troytown and he only came back in about 10 days ago,” said Mullins.

“We’ll aim him at some of the big handicap chases in the spring. He’ll could go for the Irish National if he gets in.

“He has his troubles and hopefully we can get a run over hurdles into him.”

Oscar Knight was third in a valuable handicap at the Punchestown Festival behind Patricks Park but in two runs this season he has failed to hit the target.

He ran over hurdles at the Galway Festival but was pulled up in the Kerry National.

“Oscar Knight will definitely be aimed at the Irish National,” said Mullins.

“He fell two years ago and was brought down last year so he’s due a bit of luck.

“He’s won over two and a half miles but whether he would really get three-miles and five I don’t know.”
