Racing goes ahead as planned at Haydock this afternoon after the Merseyside track passed a morning inspection.

A check had been called for 7.30am, but clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright was able to give the go-ahead earlier than anticipated, with fears of overnight snow happily proving unfounded.

The ground is officially good to soft, soft in places, for a card that features Grand National winner One For Arthur in the Peter Marsh Chase at 3.15.

Leading Supreme Novices’ Hurdle contender Mister Fisher is also due to be in action, with the first of seven races commencing at 12.55.
