Eve Johnson Houghton will keep Special Secret to the same grade for her second outing after she blitzed the opposition on debut at Newbury last month.
The daughter of Kodiac burst clear from the furlong pole to take a fillies’ novice auction stakes over six furlongs by four and a half lengths, in a faster time than the second division of the race.
Johnson Houghton is looking at a similar assignment over the course and distance next Thursday, before making further plans.
“She’s great. She did it well,” said the Blewbury trainer.
“We’ll probably go back for another fillies’ auction at Newbury next week.”
Johnson Houghton is hoping her stable star Accidental Agent can redeem himself in the Qatar Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on July 31, after refusing to race in the Queen Anne Stakes. He had won the Group One over the straight mile at Royal Ascot 12 months earlier.
“He’s in good form, he seems fine,” she said.
“I don’t know what came over him (at Ascot). We’re going for the Sussex.”
