John Quinn has pinpointed the Markel Insurance Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood for Liberty Beach.
The only defeat the speedy filly has suffered in her four races to date came in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot when fourth to Raffle Prize – form which has been franked by the winner at Newmarket.
Liberty Beach has done her bit for it too, winning a Listed race at Sandown in sparkling fashion, and she looks all speed at this stage – although Quinn has not ruled out stepping her up to six furlongs at York in August.
“She’ll go to Goodwood for the Molecomb,” said the North Yorkshire trainer.
“We have her in the Lowther – that’s an option, and the timing between Goodwood and York works well.”
Quinn admits it is a voyage of discovery as to how much stamina Liberty Beach has.
He added: “She’s quite quick – so who’s to know if she’ll stay six? If she’s that quick over six, you have a real horse on your hands.
“The Queen Mary looks a really good race this year. The form is stacking up, so hopefully we can get her to Goodwood in one piece and we can go on from there.”
