Emitom is “all systems go” for Aintree, where his Grade One target will be decided by ground conditions.
Warren Greatrex’s unbeaten five-year-old is an intended runner in either the two-and-a-half-mile Betway Mersey Novices’ Hurdle or the Doom Bar Sefton Novices’ Hurdle over an extended three as he steps up to the top level for the first time.
He will be entered in both races, having won his first two starts over hurdles and then completed the hat-trick when defying a double penalty at Newbury last time out.
Greatrex said: “He will go to Aintree, and he will be entered in both the extended three-mile and the two-and-a-half-mile novice hurdles.
“If it came up soft he run would run over the shorter trip, and if it was good then we may go up in trip.”
Emitom, who also won two bumpers before beginning his hurdling career in November, therefore has a perfect five-out-of-five record.
Greatrex added: “It was hard carrying that double penalty at Newbury, but he has come out of the race well.
“It probably ‘manned’ him up a bit, and it is all systems go to Aintree now.”
