Last year’s winner Joe Farrell is among 67 entries for the Coral Scottish Grand National at Ayr on April 13.

The Rebecca Curtis-trained gelding has been building up to a possible defence of his crown with two prep runs at Newbury this month.

The three horses who finished directly behind him in 2018 – Ballyoptic, Vintage Clouds and Doing Fine – have been given the option again.

Like Joe Farrell, there are many in the list still in the Randox Health Grand National, including Abolitionist, Blaklion, Go Conquer, Lake View Lad, Sandymount Duke, The Young Master, Vintage Clouds, Walk In The Mill, Warriors Tale and Yala Enki.

Nicky Henderson’s Beware The Bear is in the Topham at Aintree after his win in the Ultima Handicap at the Cheltenham Festival, but has this four-mile test as an alternative.

Other Irish possibles along with Sandymount Duke are Call It Magic, Crosshue Boy, Fine Rightly, Folsom Blue and Magic Of Light.
