Aidan O’Brien has nominated I Can Fly and Le Brivido as his most likely runners in the Al Shaqab Lockinge at Newbury on May 18.
The Ballydoyle handler has also left in Amedeo Modigliani and the brilliant filly Magical, who almost toppled Enable at the Breeders’ Cup.
I Can Fly had an unsuccessful trip to Meydan, but came within a neck of beating Roaring Lion in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Champions Day.
“We left all four of our entries in the race. Obviously I Can Fly is being strongly considered at the moment with Le Brivido, who is going there. With Magical, we will wait a little bit closer to the time with her,” said O’Brien.
“I Can Fly’s run in Dubai was just one of those things. Maybe she just didn’t take the journey that well, but she seems to be in good form since.
“We were delighted with Le Brivido’s latest run (third at Naas). We are just getting a feel of him and getting to know a little bit about him and we wanted to make sure that he relaxed nicely in Naas, and he did.
“We’ve been very happy with him since his run.”
Among those also left in are Karl Burke’s prolific winner Laurens, last year’s 1000 Guineas heroine Billesdon Brook, Queen Anne scorer Accidental Agent and Irish Guineas winner Romanised.
