James Tate has earmarked a Group Three at ParisLongchamp for Hey Gaman after his comfortable victory at Leicester on his comeback.

The Prix du Palais-Royale over seven furlongs is next on Hey Gaman’s agenda after he had no trouble in winning the King Richard III Stakes first time out.

Some of the colt’s best runs previously have been in France – beaten just a neck in the French Guineas last season and also finishing third in a Group Two.

“We were thrilled with him at Leicester, and he’ll now go for a Group Three over seven furlongs on May 30 at Longchamp – the Prix Palais-Royal,” said Tate.

“He looked bigger and better than ever, and looked very effective over the seven – hence the feeling to keep him to that for now.

“Frankie (Dettori) was chuffed to bits with him and said he felt much better than last year.”

Tate is hoping to run the promising Far Above in the Betway King Charles II Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday – if he can find a jockey.

“I’m looking for a jockey for Far Above at the minute – there’s too many meetings on!” he said.

“I really want to run him. He’s in great nick, and we’re optimistic.

“His home work has always been above average, so we were pretty confident heading into his maiden.

“It’s a big step up taking on the likes of Jash, if he turns up. It’s a strong race, but we think he’s a strong horse.”

Another early-season winner for Tate was New Graduate, who won by an eased-down five lengths at Ripon and is now Royal Ascot-bound.

“New Graduate bolted up at Ripon. I think we’ll head straight for the Hunt Cup with him,” said Tate.
